Low Lying Area (think swampy), but RV Pads High and Dry

Park is in pretty good shape, although it appears that the state park system is low on funding and resources, as some facilities are closed and maintenance is needed in certain areas.  The park is located within a large watershed/basin, so seasonal rains can have an impact on the area at large. …

Don't bother

Well, the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the people who work there, otherwise it would have been none. I almost got stuck twice because the spots aren't on solid ground and the spaces are too close together. They are a mix of sand and dirt. Place was a mess after Hurricane Ida, but…

A weekend on the lake

Back in spot right up to Lake Palourde in Morgan City, La. Full hook ups, swimming a beach with canoe, kayak and jet ski rentals. Really nice area for those with or without kids.

Very Nice

Very well maintained park with a pleasant staff. Some longer term folks but that section is very nice as well. We'll be back for sure.

Right on the river!

We stayed here one night passing through and were so impressed with how clean & quiet the place was. Right on the river with a dock, gazebo and fire pit. Sites have full hookups and some have picnic tables. The restrooms & laundry facilities were closed for renovations at the time.…

FAMILY FUN

We came here during the week so we had a little more space to ourselves. We were able to ride bikes and kayak. There's a river that runs right through the campground. A small "general store" is a real convience for those of us who forget the ketchup! The campsite was quite muddy due to the large…

Another swampy Louisiana SP

Almost feel sorry for the park system. All this rain & nowhere for it to go.

All in all it is a pretty nice park with level asphalt pads. Some full hook up, some w&e only. Didn't get to see most of the park as it was closed due to flooding. No cell service at all. Did not try the bath…

Beautiful, but go in the fall

The park is beautiful: trees, swamp, lakes, and bayous. Some sites (28-33 at least) have small piers on the canal for fishing or taking out the kayak. There are multiple boat launches, one in and several near the campgrounds. You can also rent canoes.

Our favorite

We will be back! Love the friendly family party vibe this campground d has! Beautiful amenities. We were there outside of pool season but there were bands and activities every weekend! Can’t wait to return.

Close to LSU

I would suggest BREC Farr Equestrian RV Park if you are interested in being close Baton Rouge or LSU. A typical fairgrounds type camping area. Sites have electric and water. Remote dump site available. Bike path trailhead is there, with extensive pathways on the levee.

Highly recommended, but busy on weekends.

Went for a few nights solo camping (with my dog) in late January, so we had the tent area to ourselves until Friday afternoon. Really impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds, but some of the fire pits and grills could use some work. Great variety of campsite layouts, as well as a couple of…
