A rare find!

Small park, lots of trees and walking/mtn bike trails. Beautiful lake, ducks, fishing piers, swimming beach, playground. Campground is right on the lake. No bad Rv spots! Spots have concrete pads. Full hookup. They take reservations, but not for a particular spot. A really wonderful place to get away! Staff very friendly.

Beautiful Vineyard and Winery a few miles off interstate.

On our trip across the country, we discovered Landry Vineyards through Harvest Hosts. But it does appear, according to Jeff & Libby Landry, this large winery and event venue allows others to camp their RV / Trailer overnight.

We arrived during a winter storm with heavy rainfall. Usually, they have you park in a field next to the vineyards, which has awesome views. But due to rain, the mud was so bad there was a chance of us getting stuck, so they had us park for the night on a concrete parking area next to the tasting room.

This is dry camping. So there is no water, electric or sewage available. There are restrooms you can use while the winery is open 11am - 5:30pm Monday through Saturday. But they do allow campers overnight on Sundays, too, even if the winery is closed.

I would suggest hitting it when it's open. They have 24 different wines ranging from dry to sweet, reds, ports, whites, fizzies and some hybrids made with blueberries and blackberries. Tasting is free with the purchase of one bottle of wine per person. The petite syrah, red zin and chocolate raspberry port are worth the trip on their own. Rare to have such good wines coming from a small southern winery.

The setting is peaceful, quiet and safe. The owners even turned on the lights and allowed us to use the covered outdoor patio next to the tasting room since the weather was so bad.  They can accommodate any size rig and have 6 spots available. Call at least 1 day in advance. And, since it's free…be sure to thank them by making a purchase in the tasting room.

The drive from the highway is only about 6 miles, but the roads in are tight and windy with 30mph curves, narrow and bumpy roads. Not too bad, but be slow and careful through here.

Nice find in NW La

Really nice primitive spots with fire pits as well as RV spots. Clean restrooms and showers.
11 mile trail system for hiking/mt bike. Exceptional mt bike course. Big lake with beach(seasonal). Big Playground for young kids.

Fabulous, secret

Wonderful camping , nice campsites , very well taken care of . Lived the days here,

Real nice get away

Not bad for a small area, great for kayaking and hiking. But due to the recent hurricanes the hiking trail was closed and a bit of trees was down in the bayou. But over all couldn’t be happier with a small get away from the world.

Love this place

Most of the campgrounds here are great. We passed by Coyote Camp and there were a few hunters. This campsite is more primitive, but does offer man-made fire rings and vault toilets. There was a small amount of litter present, but not as bad as other places we’ve been. The roads are very easy to traverse.

We hiked along a few trails that were open (many have been closed due to covid maybe) and it was really fun, mostly flat hikes. Night time will bring about the coyotes and all their lovely howls, so be prepared for some noises come dark. Overall, if you want a peaceful place to relax with serene surroundings, definitely come here.

Beautiful lake

Pick your site from what’s open. Sites backing to water are amazing. Have gated patio overlooking the water. All concrete pads with full hook ups. Easy check in! Nice trails.

Good campground to return to annually

This camp ground is well kept. There is a nice beach and really nice fishing pears and dock. There is a large open pavilion to rent as well as an enclosed group building. Cabins and duplex housing are also an option. I prefer the pull through full hook up section but there are plenty of tent and RV sites with water and electricity. There are some short trails and an amphitheater is located near the bath house. I try to camp there once a year.

Over Time Downfall

This park has so much to offer but I notice the upkeep is less and less overtime. The “prime view” back in sites are fairly level and clean, Pull throw sites aren’t really level. Several of the plugs at the breaker box need replacement. Shower houses are in need of a desperate DEEP cleaning. I have stayed once a month for the past few months and hate to watch it not being taken care of. Fishing and boating are excellent and the park could be with some upkeep. I will re-evaluate my visit next month.

I took my 3&5 year old boys

We loved Lincoln park. Great tent areas with a CLEAN bath house pretty close. Real shaded areas. Very clean and kid friendly. It’s gated and locked at night which is nice. Next time we are bringing our bikes for the paved walking trail. Really enjoyed this site.
