Bad Layout

We have a 30’ travel trailer. The overall layout isn’t great. To get up to the sites, it’s a one way up and down road. Hopefully no one else is coming the opposite direction. The sites are spaced very close together. You won’t have any bit of privacy. To go along with that, we had pretty horrible…

Large private sites

Beautiful shady campground with large private sites.  Sites 111 - 139 are more open with less privacy, but they have lake views and are near the concession stand and boat launch.  Sites in the other loops are all very shaded and private.  The shower houses were clean and large, in good repair.  The…

Awesome Place!!!!

I did NOT want to leave!!! We came in late on a Friday. They waited for us, led us to our site and told us to call or text if we needed anything. The site was nice. Grassy, level, FH, spacious, shady. When registering they had a nice store with tshirts, sweatshirts, and last minute forgotten…

Large sites

Sites are large. Picnic tables in poor condition. Bathrooms need work. Very nice park if you have self contained unit.

Spacious

Nice campground very spacious many site options full hookup, partial hookup, primitive. Lots of grass and wooded area tons of great trails multiple places to fish, swim beach, I think I saw two different parks. Each site had a fire pit and a picnic bench huge sites tons of possibility $ 34 a night…

Mesmerizing trees

Loved this place! We stayed in a tent only site, tucked in the middle of the trees. We had a ton of room to decide our camp site layout. The trees are gorgeous and felt so peaceful.

The campground host was very friendly and helpful. We picked up some firewood at the marina. They give you quite a…

Tall trees and unique hiking trail system

This is an interesting spot. The camp host engaged us in conversation and we learned about their Alaskan dreams. We ended up in the campsite right across from the host. It was busy but we had plenty of space so it worked out nicely.

The tall trees gave plenty of shade. Restrooms were a short…

Great family weekend camping location

The sites only have electric and are mostly gravel and grass. I would give the bath house a 3. It needs updating and needs a good cleaning.

Good weekend family camping location

The sites are good, mostly gravel and grass sites. Electric only. The bath houses I would give a 3. Need updating and cleaning. This is a great park for weekend family camping. We were just passing thru for one night so it was adequate for the 26.00 Per night.

Peaceful and quiet

I camped here in early may of 2021. It was well kept, peaceful and nearly empty. The hosts were great and the views were fantastic. It's hard to tell how this place is during peak, but I'd stay in a heat beat during off peak season.

Nice state park

Camp site are well maintained, but a lot will require leveling. We have a 35 class A and was able to get in no issue, some site are more difficult. Most have a covert at the road side. Cell internet was good, work two day from camp with no issues, have Verizon, single was better on the sites bu the…

Great family owned campground

Clean bathrooms and showers, well maintained sites with water and electric. A bit cramped for tent camping as sites are small and no space between neighbors.

However 2 pools, activities, green river at back of campground for fishing, tubing, and trail hiking.

Okay

First of all we are so grateful for them to squeeze us in for a reservation with 1 days notice. The campground is great, views are amazing, and you are literally on the beach of the Illinois river. But some negatives they lost a star for.

  1. In the overflow “unpaved” section there is 1 station of…

Sites better than campsite

The campground itself is pretty basic. The sites were extremely close together. I wish we would have been able to pick it out when we got there, because there are so really. It and open sites. I found 99, 101 and 105 to be the best ones! We stayed at 115 with not much room! The best part about this…
