On the picturesque Upper Peoria Lake on the Illinois River, MillPoint RV Park offers 80 shaded full hookup sites on well-maintained gravel roads. Many of our sites are spacious pull-thrus designed for the biggest of big rigs. We also offer a cluster of cabin rentals, a designated tenting area, and several primitive camping areas for those who want to get as close as possible to nature. Nature literally surrounds us, including the Spring Bay Fen Nature Reserve that directly adjoins the campground. There are acres of beauty for hiking, fishing, and boating – including access to the river and beach at Funks Run, along with a private spring-fed lake that is just waiting for you to cast your line to hook a potential trophy catch!

 Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available from March through November. The park is conveniently accessible to the nightlife, dining and casinos of Peoria and the surrounding area.

## Facilities

Reservations are required for all campsites withing Gun Creek Campground. Gun Creek Campground offers 100 reservable campsites and one large group picnic shelter. All campsites have electric hookups, and the campground offers a dump station, hot showers, flush toilets, and drinking water in order to provide a comfortable camping experience for guests. A boat dock, boat ramp, and playground are also conveniently located within the campground.

Dam West Recreation Area is a campground and day-use area situated on the southern shore of Carlyle Lake, a prime getaway for city-dwellers and families. Located 50 miles east of St. Louis, the area offers the peaceful retreat of a small town combined with the grandeur of Illinois' largest man-made lake. Recreation The campground provides fun both on the water and on shore. Boat ramps and courtesy docks are provided, and the vast lake allows for plenty of water sports. Fishing is a popular pastime, and white bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, largemouth bass, freshwater drum, carp, flathead catfish and walleye can be found in abundance. There is an on-site playground and plenty of open space for children to play in, as well as an amphitheater for educational programs. A multi-use biking and walking trail is located a short drive away at the dam. Facilities This facility consists of a day use area and campground, including 109 campsites (65 reservable, and 44 non-reservable). It provides modern amenities and access to a marina and boat storage facility. The adjacent Dam West Spillway and Day Use Areas offer additional recreational opportunities. Visitors can also walk or bike across the dam to the Dam East facilities and McNair Group Area. Natural Features Created in 1967, the 26,000-acre lake is recognized as one of the nation's top ten inland sailing lakes and hosts several annual races and regattas. Carlyle Lake is home to an array of wildlife that can be seen throughout the year. Its waters and shores are a resting spot for migratory waterfowl and other birds. There are six established Watchable Wildlife Sites with viewing towers open to the public around the lake. Cell reception on our property is spotty & there is no way to know until you get here.  I have wifi in our office and will give it if you need to check e-mail or look for things to do in the area but we do not allow people to sit in our office all day on the internet social networking or gaming as it slows down our work.  We understand that some people need it for work or school and that's fine.  

Our property is host to 17 cabins in varying sizes. Spacious and well equipped, these Illinois cabins are spread throughout 65 acres of beautiful wooded landscape on a bluff above the Vermilion River. Catering to large family reunions or a quiet, romantic getaway for 2, we are one of Illinois’ premier cabin rental destinations. Whether you’re putting together a family reunion, needing a family vacation cabin or just a romantic weekend getaway for two, Kishauwau’s Starved Rock Area Cabins has what you are looking for.

Each cabin rental comes equipped with basic pots, pans, cooking utensils, and dishes in the kitchen, a covered porch (most with porch swings), a personal outdoor fire pit, an indoor wood stove or gas fireplace (for wintertime use only; contact us for details), and much more.

What would a vacation be without everyone’s favorite family member? We welcome your dog with our four dog-friendly cabins on property.

We simply ask you read our pet policies listed under each dog friendly cabin in the “Cabins” tab or contact us prior to your trip.

Each dog will add an additional $15 plus tax per night to your reservation. Simply list 1 or 2 dogs in the pet field when booking on-line and the system will add the fee for you.  I do ask that you notify me in e-mail that you have read and are fine with the policies as we are firm with those.

Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins

Buena Vista Farms is a newly constructed camp ground on State Highway 67 in the middle of Illinois. We are short trips to Springfield, IL, Abraham Lincoln sites, Hannibal, Mo, Mark Twain sites and Saint Louis, Mo. Our RV sites are all full hook up, and some pull through spaces are 90 feet long, for Big Rigs. We offer back in sites on the water, and pull through sites. We have lots of green space, 60 feet between pedestals, 2 fishing lakes, canoes, kayaks and paddle boat, playground, hiking trails and no light pollution so you can star gaze around your camp fire. Sites all have fire pits and picnic tables. Tiny home cabins are fully furnished and available monthly or daily, in 3 styles, to sleep 3, 4 or 6 people.  We offer 2 furnished apartments for traveling professionals on our park like setting.  Seasonal, monthly or overnight campers are all welcomed!

Lake Shelbyville offers a multitude of fishing opportunities for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, muskie, walleye, white bass and bluegill. Coon Creek provides a boat ramp, and for those without a boat, several ponds with farmed fish are available around the lake.   
  
Hunting areas within a short drive offer numerous game species, including quail, rabbit, pheasant, deer, dove, turkey, waterfowl and woodcock.   
  
Visitors can also explore the lake shore on foot via a 0.7-mile nature trail within the facility.

Coon Creek has 181 campsites, about 50 percent of which are reservable. All sites are equipped with electric hookups. The facility has flush toilets, showers, a playground, swimming beach, dump station and boat ramp.

This facility overlooks the lake shore and is heavily forested with plenty of shade.   
  
Oak and hickory are the lake region's dominant tree species, and foliage turns a variety of red, orange, purple and yellow each fall, while prairie flowers dot the landscape in spring and summer.   
  
Numerous species of songbirds, shorebirds, waterfowl and raptors inhabit the lake area, as do mammals such as cottontail rabbit, white-tail deer, gray and fox squirrel, muskrat and mink.
