Beautiful and spacious camp sights in a quiet environment. We have had deer playing on an adjacent site to us. Fun place to camp with family and friends. Never want to leave.
This is a nice campground on Rend Lake. The sites themselves are nice and the lake is beautiful! Our only issue is that the sites on not very level. Ours had a significant slope when we backed up the electric hookups. But it was a concrete pad with a concrete picnic table, firepit, and a tall hook for a light or garbage out of bear's reach. We saw a nice playground for kids. We would stay here again, just scout for a more level site.
It's a small campground that offers a playground, bathhouse, hiking trails, and a small swimming area. There is easy access walking down to the marina. With small towns close to this state park.
We’ve Camped At Gun A Few Times Now And Have Had A Great Experience Every Time!!
Gun Creek has many sites for all campers. For cheap you get a simple site with electric or for not too much more there are sites with water and sewage dump.
I really enjoyed the drive in for this one- crossed the dam, saw tons of deer, fairly large so lots of sites but descent space between them. The view off the lake at sunset was beautiful! However, our site didn’t have water hook up which I though let it should (some did, some didn’t so maybe just missed on my end). Our site was pretty trashed from the people prior and the fire was actually still burning. And heard the highway sounds all. night. long. I thought we were far enough away but not the case. Also had a train, some planes, and neighbors were up very early. It was a pretty campground for sure but overall not an enjoyable experience.
Everything was clean and exactly what you’d expect from an Indiana state park. This is a big campground so things are a bit cramped but we went on a rainy weekend so we had plenty of room. There is a pool in the park (closed to do COVID) and decent hiking trails.
Great camp ground.. 50 amp service, some with water and some with Full hookup… Dump stations are EZ access on the way out….. Bathrooms were clean, loved Rend Lake.
Reservations made through Reserve America, this allowed us to have this part of the park almost to ourselves. We had 3 of the sites closest to the lake with only electric. Bathhouses were a little bit of a walk. With our 40' diesel we did not have to use them. The sites were pretty level. The campground is well kept, about 20 minutes from any groceries so come with your neccessities.
Great campground in the lake. Clean bathhouses.
