All sites include water, electricity, table and grill; sewer hookup is included on all Pine Grove campsites as well.

Eight miles of multiuse trails starting at the Eagles View area are available for horseback riding, hiking and off-road bicycling. Trail maps are available at the ranger station and the Kimbell Center.

Two backpack camps are available on segments of the Florida Trail. Maps of the trail are available at the ranger station.

One camp is 5 miles out along the trail, and the other is 9 miles out. A pitcher pump is located near each camp. Water must be treated. Pets are not permitted on this trail and/or at these camps. Collection of firewood is not permitted in Florida State Parks; be sure to pack a stove for cooking.

Overnight trips to these camps must begin by specified times of the day; reservations are not required but are suggested. Call the ranger station at 772-546-2771 for information and reservations.

      Aztec RV Resort

      Great Luxury Resort

We had a short stay in a private lot (they are all private, I think). We stayed in 56, which was not good. It had a hot tub and hut, but the hot tub was just there for tadpoles to swim. It was unkept.

The resort itself was DEAD, which was kind of cool. It’s clearly off season, but the resort is gorgeous. Such great sites and the amenities look good. They were redoing the pool when we visited, but the adult pool was open. We would definitely come back again!

Pitt or mixed Pitt breed is not allowed. 😏

I tried to get a reservation with this park and was told my dog would not be allowed because of his breed. The receptionist claimed a Pittbull had bitten a person. Please know that most dogs reflect their owners. You are not welcome if you have a Pitt or a mixed Pitt.

      Just ok.

Pros: The grounds are nice. The bathrooms are clean. The playgrounds are nice.
It's pretty quiet. Easy to book. A lot of available spots to pick from. Water front is nice. Full service.

Cons: It's a little pricey for what it is ($55+ a night depending on location). WiFi doesn't have useable connection. The spaces are very close together. No extra parking. Basically one vehicle & guest parking is not close to sites at all. No fire pits or grills at the sites. There are iguanas everywhere, the place is pretty much infested with them.

I have to start by saying that I haven't been here in a few years but I went there this week and I was amazed at the transformation. It is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Each site has new outdoor furniture and is clean. These sites are just waiting for you to pull in. The staff was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend a stay here. The pool is crystal clear and welcoming. It's located near many attractions and shopping. Beautiful sunset viewing across the street at Vista View Park and easy highway access. You're going to love your stay at this KOA!

      Buggy but quiet

Follow the steps described on the website to register for a free camping permit. You’re supposed to write your name and permit number on a paper to display on your dash and check in with the camp host, but we never saw them and no one came by.

We’re probably spoiled coming from non buggy places, but there were a lot of gnats and bugs. We basically stayed in the camper the entire time. The family campground has composting toilets (they do smell bad, but better than nothing at a free site). There’s an equestrian campground down the road that has showers and running water toilets but we didn’t check those out. Some people had several barking dogs but that didn’t bother us overnight. Plenty of empty spaces on a Thursday night.

Beautiful park, but no parking and very crowded

I was going to rent there, but it was so crowded that we would not be able to open our awnings and we were only allowed 1 car per spot. You have to pay $6.00 a day to park your car in a lot that is some distance away. This of course is in season, so I am sure that this was why is was the way it was. It was so crowded that I could not see how our 5th wheel would fit, not how we would be able to fit it in. I am so glad we went to visit before we were to stay 3 months there

      Only 2 sites

Adverse weather conditions, specifically rainfall, may impede vehicular access to and from the adjacent campsites, resulting in potential challenges navigating muddy terrain. Fortunately, our visit remained unaffected by precipitation, ensuring a pleasant and pristine experience. Additionally, a $200 down deposit is temporarily pending, with clearance contingent upon the absence of any damages to the campsite.

Great place to camp or spend an evening away from the city

Great place to escape the city without going far, it’s a great place to spend camping or to rent out for an evening campfire night. There’s a man made pond next to it where you’ll get a nice view of the sun going down. Bathrooms aren’t too far away but unless you’re in the first four camp sites you’re probably gonna want to drive to it.

Showers will be a mile down the road but if you can go past that then you are good to go.

      Fishing and dirt track racing

One of the finer older campgrounds in Florida, peaceful and serene. Located on the rim canal of Lake Okeechobee, we stayed for two nights to go to the Hendry County Speedway for dirt track racing and basically caught a Bass every time we cast a line. The only reason I did not rate them a 5 was due to the shower facility, it’s in need of a renovation. friendly staff and a quiet fishing atmosphere. We will stay there again!!!

      Can’t believe this is free

This place has pretty much everything a normal campground would have at no cost. Grass is well kept, bathrooms and showers are clean, hot water, fire rings, picnic tables, and really nice host. There is some noise from the nearby road, but not too bad. Verizon service was good enough to stream Netflix. The registration process was quick and pretty easy. I registered on a Thursday for a stay Friday-Sunday and was able to get a spot.
