Davie KOA

I have to start by saying that I haven't been here in a few years but I went there this week and I was amazed at the transformation. It is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Each site has new outdoor furniture and is clean. These sites are just waiting for you to pull in. The staff was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend a stay here. The pool is crystal clear and welcoming. It's located near many attractions and shopping. Beautiful sunset viewing across the street at Vista View Park and easy highway access. You're going to love your stay at this KOA!

Very unkind management

I am writing this review to shield anyone who is camping & going through a difficult time in life, because no one deserves to be treated as we were. Unfortunately, I would never stay at this KOA ever again. It makes me very sad & upset to know that such unkind, greedy people run this campground- one of the few KOA’s in all of Florida. My family and I are going through a very rough time due to illness. We come here to be at a family wedding, to forget, to be happy & comfortable. We are big travelers all across the continental United States, and have stayed at nearly every KOA in the entire country. This is the first and hopefully last time I have ever had to write a review to protect people from coming to a campground. If you HAVE to stay here do not stay in spot 89. The KOA workers walk dogs they cannot control, that bark VERY loudly at 8AM. And all throughout the day, dogs walking past and barking. Absolute torture. We were charged for having 2 cats, $10. Never been charged for two cats that don’t leave the camper but, okay. When we got to the site, we discovered that we paid $120 for a spot with an enormous pile of dirt & construction on it. Not being dramatic. But honestly, I really didn’t care about that much. What bothered me was how they treated people. I pride myself on always being kind to people because you don’t know what anyone is going through. What bothered me was a man with facial hair on a golf cart telling me (who owns the camper & paid for the spot) to leave immediately because my sisters rental car was “not registered at the office”. He saw us come in and drove all the way back to the office to look at our registered cars. How bored and and angry at life do you have to be to care about that? Just wow. He tried to charge us money to register my pregnant sister coming to visit us for 2 hours because we “didn’t register her rental car at the office?” I have never experienced anything like that. Turns out there was one nice woman who is shorter and has dark brown hair in a ponytail, she was kind enough to tell us the TRUTH that we just had to park it in a designated spot. LOL. Why wouldn’t you tell someone that in the first place? Because you can get money out of them the first way. How cruel and greedy is that? I will never associate myself with this campground ever again. The nasty looks we received from staff during our stay was laughable. I look forward to sending a very accurate depiction of our lovely stay at the Davie KOA to the KOA Owners Association Board of Directors. I hope you desperately unhappy people can heal yourselves and find true happiness & love in this life.

don't believe the pictures

This place isn't all it's cracked up to be and the rates quoted over the phone bare no resemblance to what you will be charges. to make matters worse they charge a $400 non refundable deposit per month.

Disappointing

Ok if you are only staying one night. Pulling in looks like a junk yard. Most people working here are working for free camping. None of the photos or on line descriptions are accurate. Spots are super close together with broken concrete slabs and old broken outdoor furniture. Pond in the middle of the campground is a cess pool, laundry room nothing worked, No Saturday pancakes , no bar. Broken down establishment. With horrible blue buildings . I don’t know how this can be a KOA . Does not meet their expectations. Instead of fixing the infrastructure the owner is buying auction junk ! Will not be back. Could be a beautiful space.

Great place to camp

We’ve been to this site on two occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff is friendly and it’s conveniently located and the rates are fair. I recommend it!

Small, clean, welcoming Staff

This campground in heart of SFL Horse Country. (Ocala is real horse country, but this is as close as you can get south of Orlando). Full hookups, table, plus laundry facilities. Great cell signal. Space to park one vehicle onsite. Good campground to use as jumping off point to SFL attractions.

Family visit 2021

This KOA was close to family and friends. Stayed for five nights. It was clean and I felt safe. Staff were very helpful getting backed in and set up. Pool was nice and clean Down side/ 1: all the sites are so close together 2: the WI-FI is the worst of any KOA I have been to 3: other than the pool no other activities or areas for activities. This place is undergoing huge construction too so I am looking forward to future upgrades. There is also a park close by. I would stay again.

Below the expectation for KOA campground

The staff is kind, polite and helpful. I understand that they have all the requirements of the KOA franchise but unfortunately, the maintenance of the spots is very poorly taken care of.

Okay, not great

I’ll start off by saying it’s a typical KOA - tightly crammed and sites very close together. On the plus side, very friendly and helpful staff at check in, and they helped us to get wedged in to our site which was right next to the store/office. We had hookups so didn’t go looking for the bathrooms or showers, so can’t speak to that; the pool area was nice. The store had a bit of everything that you might need or want. Great for a night or two if you are in the area, close to major roads, shopping, etc.

Small campground

Stayed here for four days I don’t think I would return and if we did it would only be for the location

Small but very pretty and great location

We stayed here the first two weeks in April 2018. The staff were very friendly and it was a site that was gorgeous. It had tropical flowers and plants and was right across from the pound. My grandson loved looking at and feeding the ducks and turtles. It is across the street from a massive park that is perfect for all family members. If you go to the park, make sure you see the burrowing owls. While not fancy and is clearly an older park, it’s still very much worth a visit.

First rv park

Overall not bad. My tent site was near the bathrooms with the showers. During my stay only 3 people used them. Very clean. The tent site I will say was the best of the lot. What i mean is, it wasn't against a fence in the broiling sun. Had trees for shade. Wifi was non existent, the ap on my end has been down since itma. The washing machines were hit and miss. The staff and guests in my area were great. Pricing for a tent is a bit expensive though. All in all not bad.
