We had a short stay in a private lot (they are all private, I think). We stayed in 56, which was not good. It had a hot tub and hut, but the hot tub was just there for tadpoles to swim. It was unkept.
The resort itself was DEAD, which was kind of cool. It’s clearly off season, but the resort is gorgeous. Such great sites and the amenities look good. They were redoing the pool when we visited, but the adult pool was open. We would definitely come back again!
I loved the peace and quiet at this park. The Park rangers are amazing and you have a dog amount of space to yourself! 😊
I tried to get a reservation with this park and was told my dog would not be allowed because of his breed. The receptionist claimed a Pittbull had bitten a person. Please know that most dogs reflect their owners. You are not welcome if you have a Pitt or a mixed Pitt.

Pros:
The grounds are nice.
The bathrooms are clean.
The playgrounds are nice.
It's pretty quiet.
Easy to book.
A lot of available spots to pick from.
Water front is nice.
Full service.
Cons: It's a little pricey for what it is ($55+ a night depending on location). WiFi doesn't have useable connection. The spaces are very close together. No extra parking. Basically one vehicle & guest parking is not close to sites at all. No fire pits or grills at the sites. There are iguanas everywhere, the place is pretty much infested with them.
I have to start by saying that I haven't been here in a few years but I went there this week and I was amazed at the transformation. It is beautiful, clean and very welcoming. Each site has new outdoor furniture and is clean. These sites are just waiting for you to pull in. The staff was very nice and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend a stay here. The pool is crystal clear and welcoming. It's located near many attractions and shopping. Beautiful sunset viewing across the street at Vista View Park and easy highway access. You're going to love your stay at this KOA!
Jonathan Dickinson Pinegrove State Park is among the best parks I've ever visited. The bathrooms are spotless, the trails are extensive, and the people are incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

Follow the steps described on the website to register for a free camping permit. You’re supposed to write your name and permit number on a paper to display on your dash and check in with the camp host, but we never saw them and no one came by.
We’re probably spoiled coming from non buggy places, but there were a lot of gnats and bugs. We basically stayed in the camper the entire time. The family campground has composting toilets (they do smell bad, but better than nothing at a free site). There’s an equestrian campground down the road that has showers and running water toilets but we didn’t check those out. Some people had several barking dogs but that didn’t bother us overnight. Plenty of empty spaces on a Thursday night.
I was going to rent there, but it was so crowded that we would not be able to open our awnings and we were only allowed 1 car per spot. You have to pay $6.00 a day to park your car in a lot that is some distance away. This of course is in season, so I am sure that this was why is was the way it was. It was so crowded that I could not see how our 5th wheel would fit, not how we would be able to fit it in. I am so glad we went to visit before we were to stay 3 months there
Nice place and quiet. Warm reception at arrival.
Great place to escape the city without going far, it’s a great place to spend camping or to rent out for an evening campfire night. There’s a man made pond next to it where you’ll get a nice view of the sun going down. Bathrooms aren’t too far away but unless you’re in the first four camp sites you’re probably gonna want to drive to it.
Great trip with lots of Rural Florida to see and understand the other Florida… wonderful Everglades set up with small pond and small gators residents.Perfect place to spend a night unless you have to poop… outhouse is the way and you can smell it . Showers will be a mile down the road but if you can go past that then you are good to go.
If you want to see animals and be in the middle of wildlife this is good for you. We really liked it because of the lake view. The RV spot is right at the lake. Would recommend :)
Phone numbers and website lead no where, so I drove over to take a peek. There is a demolition companies sign at the entrance.
Owned by a nice old lady named Mary Ann.its been in her family for 40 years. she lives on site. property has a dock and a boat ramp. The campers have plenty of space apart from one another. The rates are affordable. Very nice neighbors. I have the trailer slot directly on the water very nice view. Pet friendly and kid friendly. Not too far from town.
Location was great, spaces are too tight though. I could hardly get my RV and Car Trailer through the campground. Restrooms were great and staff were helpful.
This place has pretty much everything a normal campground would have at no cost. Grass is well kept, bathrooms and showers are clean, hot water, fire rings, picnic tables, and really nice host. There is some noise from the nearby road, but not too bad. Verizon service was good enough to stream Netflix. The registration process was quick and pretty easy. I registered on a Thursday for a stay Friday-Sunday and was able to get a spot.
Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. What a beautiful park! Site 36 HC FHU 50 amp Paved roads and site Restroom path from site and very clean Beautiful trails, bike paths, and walking paths. Store and food truck down by river
Good experience, this was the first campground we ever visited with our RV but it was smooth. Price was okay (I guess), front desk lady was very friendly, slot was spacey and the pool seemed nice although we didn't use it (what a shame)
This is a wonderful park to go camping in. My family and I typically spend 2 weeks there every summer. The pine scrub forest makes for such an amazing adventure and perfect campsite experience. There are bicycle trails, canoeing/kayaking options, Hobe Sound beach nearby. I absolutely live this place.
Great COE campground in the locks.
Only 9 rv sites, 1-3 on water, 6 boat slips. 50 amp, paved, and good spaces between sites. Very clean and well maintained. Has a dump, and you could walk to the locks.
Another State park to be in the memories.... amazing sites, very cozy, full hook ups available as well. Losts of shades, huge park, 2 miles from the spring. Well maintained. Great bathrooms. Super cool place to rest and be in the nature.
3 words.... The best park! Well located , paved sites, amazing showers, laundromat, trash can all love, cleaned and organized, lots os amenities in the T.Y park. Great security all day and night. Quiet and peaceful. Loved it.
Had a wonderful week at the naval station in Key West. It only cost $40 per night. All amenities were available.
This campground was awesome. We stopped here on our way to the Keys. We have a big Class A and had no reservation. We called and they offer a walk in availability. We got there right before 5:00 when they were about to close. There was a site for us! The staff was super friendly and helpful. We will come back when can explore their amenities. Highly recommend. Great for families.
I love a free campground with all the necessities. The spots aren't paved but they're level, some have tables and fire pits. There's bathrooms and showers on-site. Water is also available in some of the center areas for filling up containers.
You will need to register on their website for free access and the gate code, and while it is first come first served, I'd say only 10% of the spots has campers. (But it's June in FL so it's HOT)
There's also an equestrian campground for folks with horses. I didn't go see that but wonder how the horses fit in the tents? ;-)
