Pahokee Beach RV Resort

Just outside the town of Pahokee, this state-managed RV park sits directly on the shores of Lake Okeechobee, placing campers at the water's edge with immediate access to Florida's largest freshwater lake. The facility provides hookups for RVs and welcomes pets, though breed restrictions apply to certain dogs.

RV sites face the lake, giving campers front-row views of the water and regular wildlife sightings. "If you want to see animals and be in the middle of wildlife this is good for you," notes one reviewer who appreciated the lakeside positioning. Local anglers frequent the boardwalk daily, and a boat launch accommodates those bringing watercraft. The park has upgraded its picnic areas over the years and added a dog walk with waste stations.

Fishing draws many visitors to this stretch of Lake Okeechobee, where casting a line from shore produces consistent results. Sunsets over the water provide evening entertainment, and alligator sightings add to the wildlife viewing opportunities. The park offers both RV sites and rental cabins, with ample parking for boat trailers.

For additional camping options in the area, campers can explore campgrounds just outside Canal Point. The location works well for those seeking direct water access and wildlife observation along Florida's largest lake.

Visitors often highlighted the beautiful lakefront RV sites and stunning sunsets over Lake Okeechobee. Some guests reported problems regarding early morning noise from roosters and safety concerns in the surrounding area.

Pitt or mixed Pitt breed is not allowed. 😏

I tried to get a reservation with this park and was told my dog would not be allowed because of his breed. The receptionist claimed a Pittbull had bitten a person. Please know that most dogs reflect their owners. You are not welcome if you have a Pitt or a mixed Pitt.

A lot of nature but no infrastructure

If you want to see animals and be in the middle of wildlife this is good for you. We really liked it because of the lake view. The RV spot is right at the lake. Would recommend :)

Small Town Beauty

This park is not the ritz but the City of Pahokee has made lots of improvements over the years. The picnic area has been upgraded and there has been a dog walk integrated with available poop stations. There are cabins on the lake that can be rented out and empty lots as well for campers/rv’s. There are a lot of local fishermen here everyday on the “boardwalk”. There is also a boat launch and an abundance of parking for your truck and boat trailer. The real beauty are the sunsets here. Definitely a wonderful spot to stop for a quick picnic while on the road. If you’re lucky you might even spot some gators!

Ghetto

Avoid this area at all costs. This area is the porest in the nation, with highest crime and HIV rates.

Beware of thefts, dog poop everywhere and roosters crowing non stop beginning at 3am. Don't expect finding a decent place to eat ether. The sunset over the lake is gorgeus though.

Usually a Crowed Area but not here

There is usually a ton of people that like to hang out around Lake Okeechobee but here it was really nice. There were only a few families but you can get away if you needed to. The finishing in this area is really good so if you have any free time, just throw a line out.
