Water 360 degrees

For a boat ramp camping site near town, this place is special. Remote from town but water 360 degrees. You can hear the ocean while looking at the towns across the water. I didn't use the facilities but location is awesome.

No calling

These coordinates lead us to private property, a driveway to a couple of houses. Maybe there was something a little further, but it was all blocked off. We had to turn around and camp elsewhere.

Old and tired with surprisingly nice sites by the water

Some friends of ours stay here a couple of months each summer to fish and enjoy the ocean weather.

Despite new ownership supposedly going through a renovation process, this is a very old and tired looking rv park. You have to drive through permanent trailers and mobile homes to get to the over…

Hidden Gem / Not For Everyone

This run down little campground is one of our favorites. It’s split into two sides: 1 side is the regular tightly packed RV park with full hookups and an age limitation of 20 years for your RV. Next to the RV park is a small cute mobile home community, as well as some rental units that were under…

Road Noise (but free!)

Turn off highway 199 at the Madrona River Access road, just 1/2 mile east of Grassy Flat Campground.

There are just 3 sites with picnic tables, fire pits and there is a bathroom. All sites are along the river. Though the river sound is nice, it is drowned out by the highway above, though it…

Great park with great people!

We had so much fun exploring the Redwoods from Kamp Klamath. It’s also an easy bike ride to the mouth of the Klamath River and the beach which is super cool. The staff here really makes the place. Joyce at the front desk was so welcoming and full of great info & intel and everyone you run into…

Great location and staff!

We didn’t plan on staying but 101 closures between Klamath and Crescent City led us to find a last minute option and the staff at Kamp Klamath could not have been more accommodating. Great camp site, clean facilities, awesome staff and a great location to explore the redwoods. This was an…

Near Redwood Forest

Decent site to stay. We stopped and stayed for 1 night to see the redwoods. It's very close and the staff was nice. Amenities and camp ground were good, but with 3 kids not much for them to do at the rv site itself. Rv parking spots were smaller then the previous we have stayed on our road trip.…

Nice quiet area

Sand camp is essentially a dispersed camping area. There is a large gravel parking lot and a pit toilet available. There is a path down to the Smith River where you can set up tents and tent camp if you want.

The toilet was a basic pit toilet, but it was fairly clean as far as those go.

Fantastic location & chill vibe

Located right on the Klamath River, this campground is right next to redwood national park. With all the campgrounds in the park completely booked, we were lucky to slide into the spot on a Saturday night. It was pretty expensive for a tent site ($35), where we parked our truck camper. However the…

Good and bad

The spots are good pull through but when they say quite time is 10pm they take it seriously here. We pretty much couldn't even be out side our trailer without the camp lady that lives there would come out and tell us to be quiet. It was ridiculous. Even during the day she didn't let us have our…

This campground is truly in the woods. Most sites are very shady and spacious. A few are smaller, like mine, but we enjoyed our stay. Conveniently located near everything you could want including a Walmart, the beach, and redwood forest. Full hook ups available. Bathrooms and showers are clean. 2…

Beautiful Place

This is the second summer that we have stayed at Klamath River RV Park. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful. It has well maintained grounds and friendly staff. RV spaces are on grass. It has laundry and restrooms/showers. River access a nearby drive but not at the RV park.
