Quiet and Pristine

🌲🐸 If you’re reading this review, do your part to keep this lake pristine and quiet.

Toad Lake is a pristine mountain lake accessible only via a long, rough, and rocky single lane dirt road (Toad Lake Road 40N64). Take this road only is you have a 4x4 or AWD vehicle with suitable clearance and…

Beautiful scenery

We just finished a backpacking trip in marble valley and sky high lakes area, both accessible about 5+ miles from the Lovers Camp Trailhead. It was absolutely beautiful! So much to do in that area and such great views. Very well kept trail and the campsites were well maintained. Definitely hope to…

Breath taking

The casino has an rv park named Logan’s rv park. They were full so we thought we would park and go inside the casino and play. Well turns out they have the back part of their parking lot open to rvs. Each space is numbered, all you need do is play a bit. We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed our…

Your Experience depends on your site

We have stayed at a few spots here. If you are by the freeway it can be noisy. If you are by the river, it's awesome. Clean bathrooms and showers. Convenient access to Interstate 5. The Oregon Park staff are friendly and helpful.

Well Run State Park But a Lot of Interstate Noise

Our GPS wanted to take us up to Exit 48 on I-5N, but we followed the website instructions and the State Park signs off I-5 and took Exit 45B. You will go through the rest area before coming to the gate leading into the campground (CG) areas. Check in was super easy with a very informative brief by…

Lots of shade

The park is covered in oaks so there is lots of shade. Some pull through sites were not true pull through for bigger rigs so we had to back in to our sites

Nice and peaceful

Beautiful and shady. There is access to the stream which has a nice swimming hole, if you don’t mind the cold. The campground is quite with absolutely no cell service, which is great if that’s what you are looking for. A small warning, the mosquitoes are abundant in the early evening.

Surprising attraction this year

This lake is empty now (2021) and it’s a nice surprise to cross the barren lake bottom to see many different terrains. Would be a nice discovery trip for kids finding lake bottom treasures. There are many active bugs here too, for the entomologist in you. It’s a well maintained and healthy forest…

Clean bathrooms

The spot I was in was small and nestled in a grove of aspen trees. The bear locker was well maintained and the fire ring was double walled. There were flush toilets with working lights and the tent pad was level.

Its a short drive to some great hikes, but the campground itself was too busy and…

Cheap campground near shasta

There are 14 camp grounds. About 7/8 have bear bins. There is no water right now because the spring/well is dried up)-: there are fire rings on about 1/2 the camp cites. Bathrooms are close but, kinda gross. Nice shade and trees to slack line. No camp host so but fire wood and in town. Very close…

Easy access, spacious and well maintained

We just stayed one night with some fellow rv’ers. They were in spot C11 which has 3 trees PERFECT for 2 hammocks and great shade. We were in B30 which was just ok. Overall it’s a nice park with trails but I felt like we were being nitpicked by the camp hosts about everything. Our wheels on the…

Nice camp ground on water

Walking distance to the water. Lots of obsidian with just a short walk. Very beautiful and secluded. Not many people and camp spots are located very far apart. Highly recommend. Nice star viewing.

Beautiful Area!

We were headed to this campground but the last 1/3 mile was blocked by gate and snow covered road so we ended up staying in the large parking area which was actually not bad and we stayed 3 nights.  Website indicates campground is temporarily closed.
