Sly Park Recreation Area is a wonderful place to bring the whole family for an unforgettable camping experience. Sly Park camping features 10 campgrounds that contain a total of 191 individual sites, each with a picnic table, fire ring, and barbecue. Vault toilets and water faucets are conveniently located throughout the campgrounds.

We live on a quiet 10 acre property with trees that provide some shade, and all of our sites are near the horse pastures. You might hear horses nickering and our cows calling. There is lots of room to walk or run around. A large sandbox and Treehouse are available for kids to play in, plus we have a 17 foot high swing for kids and adults alike! You can walk the property to observe the horses, or sign up for a special horse/ranch "experience." We have beautiful sunsets most evenings!

Come camp in a very quiet and safe horse and farming area. We are near the end of a dead-end road, so little traffic to deal with. Our camping sites are private, some with more shade and others with more mid-day sun.

We specialize in "Horse Experiences" tailored to your level of comfort and needs. None of the horse experiences listed on our site require any prior experience with horses. We will make sure you are safe and comfortable while working with the horses.

\*NOTE: Experiences are not available on Sundays (our sabbath day). We can fit them in on Saturday afternoon/evening for Saturday-night campers, or Monday morning for Sunday-night campers.

A cute little shed-barn has a flush toilet and shower (bring your own towels) for your use. You are also free to use the hot tub.

You are welcome to look at the horses, or you can sign up for one of our special "experiences" to get to know the horses better: learn to groom a horse, have a pony-ride, have a basic horse-riding lesson, take special photos with a horse(s), or help with the feeding and learn about taking care of the horses.

We are located about 12 minutes from the Galt area, which has a large variety of Fast-food, as well as several nice restaurants. There is also a Wal-Mart (with groceries) and a nice Supermarket. We are about 6 miles from 2 country stores in Herald and Wilton (with gas station & Mexican restaurant).

It's very quiet at night, and you can see LOTS of stars, especially when the moon isn't full. Welcome!

The Placerville KOA Campground is located in the foothills between the Sacramento Valley and the gorgeous Sierra Nevada Mountains of Lake Tahoe.

It's a terrific launching pad for trips to California's Gold Country, the American River, Apple Hill, Old Town Sacramento, and Red Hawk Casino. Visit the area's wineries or plentiful apple orchards with handmade crafts, pies, and pastries. Relax in the refreshing pool (in-season) and hot tub, or take the free on-call shuttle to Red Hawk Casino for a delicious buffet.

On Sunday mornings in the summer, this KOA serves a fabulous breakfast. Join in on movie nights with free popcorn and other goodies in support of KOA Care Camps (most Fri/Sat). Enjoy the new arcade, giant tent with free Ping-Pong and foosball and hand-dipped ice cream. Stop by to pamper the adorable miniature goats. Enjoy the new large dog park for your four-legged buddies!
