Alamo Lake State Park is one of our FAVORITES!!!! Great camping with large spots that aren't on-top of each other. Site amenities go from Full-Hookups to primitive. If looking for primitive, there's no need to camp in the campground. There are HUNDREDS (of not thousands) of places to camp outside…

Badger Danger

I fought a Badger twice a night for three nights. The Rangers are aware of the issue but obviously nothing has been done. The Badger I delt with was 20-25 pounds and nasty. It tried to get in my tent and my Clam Shelter. I cleaned up the beach of plastic worms and fishing line. The campsites are…

Great Campsite

The rangers and staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. The lake is gorgeous. Watch out for wild burro along the highway. I had cell service close to the lake but at the RV site I did not get service (ATT). The closest gas station is 45 minutes away. There is a shop up the road that sells…

Great views , not too crowded

This area is becoming more popular, but not crowded yet. Solome is just down the road with propane, laundry and a small grocery store. At the junction of 72 & 60 you can dump for $20 (Ramblin Roads RV Resort) or head down the road on the other side of Solome to the county park, Centennial Park…

Dispersed sites could be better

Not a ton of dispersed camping around here but the spots we found were ok. You’re a short drive or walk to the water where you can boat, fish, hike. Pretty views when you get there. The entrance to the dispersed sites we found are to the left about a half of a mile before you enter the Alamo state…

Very nice place, for an RV park!

We only stopped here to use their dump station and fill our water tanks ($10). Dump station is located at the end of the rows behind sites 77 & 102. The person at the desk said they have their own well water which is good quality.

The staff person was very friendly and sells eggs from his…

Good dispersed camping, close to town

Free BLM dispersed camping with plenty of open flat areas with trees and bushes to allow for a sense of privacy to choose from. Saw a few other campers along the road but were able to easily find a private space for the night at 33.749426,-113.731680.

There were multiple spots with rock fire…

Free dispersed camping, some spots with trash, some without

There are many nice places to pull off of Eagle Eye Rd but unfortunately they were mostly taken or difficult to get to in our rig so we ended up at this particular spot for the night. There was so much garbage, diapers, appliances, etc that we expected people to drive up and dump some more trash at…

Hot and isolated

Alamo state park wasn’t all that bad. Due to the virus and our sons upcoming surgery plus several parks and lake being closed this was the only option. The wild burros are a very neat site and great to watch! The lake unfortunately was experiencing a blue green algae bloom 🤢 Park rangers advised…

Great place to get away

We love camping here. Well maintained and bit of a drive off the main highway but that is good in my book because of less people. There is dispersed camping somewhat near here for all the peeps that use ATV's on the abundance of trails. There are slot canyons to those that are adventurous. Wild…

Very pretty but in the middle of nowhere!

Gorgeous place to visit or stay love it!!!! Huge park with nice campground. Sites near the ranger station are paved and level. No cell service unless you hike up a trail or drive to the dam overlook. There are only a few hiking trails(easy to moderate) but they are well maintained. The lake is a…

In the middle of nowhere

This is a campground built like a parking lot. All gravel. There are a couple places in area to eat, and a couple of very overly priced grocery stores. Please do all your shopping before you get there, otherwise go to the dollar store that's in the area for the best deals. The gas in this area is…

Free & Near Quartzsite

Free dispersed camping, about 20 miles outside of Quartzsite, with no services available, but lots of space and beautiful views of surrounding mountains. The major drawback is that you can hear the traffic on Interstate 10. We stayed here for just one night, as we were approaching Quartzsite at…

Very friendly!

Checked in to this quiet well kept KOA for very reasonable price with barely anyone in the park for one overnighter. There was a game room, store and DVD rental library. Very surprised to see pool/jacuzzi were clean & warm for nice soak (nice after a long haul in November) Talked to quite a few…
