As soon as I pulled in my truck was swarmed with thousands of flies (no exaggeration!) if I hadn’t just traveled from Colorado and was exhausted I would have immediately left. My trailer was then infested with flies as well. It’s going to take days to get rid of the infestation. Despite that, I did give it a two-star rating for the views.
ScoutThis is a nice campground with pull through partial hookup sites, clean restrooms and a boat ramp and a swimming area. The bonus is there’s an island which prevents the insane speed boats from running you over. Sadly, the beautiful canyon acts as a megaphone for the super loud trucks on the highway and the insanely loud boats. It’s a lovely place with friendly rangers, but be prepared for the noise. Our dog did not handle it well, although she’s recently adopted and hasn’t been exposed to this type of thing before. Not my scene but a lovely campground if you’re into that.
ScoutI stayed over the summer in a Tiny home that is waterfront. The home was clean and cool and decorated rock and roll style, which was tastefully done. The A/C kept the home nice and cool. A ceiling fan on the deck was also nice. The home came equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the kids had fun using the arcade games and board games. It has a nice green front lawn where we played corn hole, etc. We fished and kayaked in the fresh water lagoon just steps from the house. We loved the bluetooth Victorla for our music needs (very cool). It has nice comfortable patio furniture just steps from the water. The home had Starlink and my phone service was perfect and I also could work online from there. It had a charcoal BBQ and Smoker which was really nice, bbq ribs delicious. We walked down to the private beach and dry anchored our rafts and water toys to float and ride. The views are gorgeous!!! I would highly recommend staying here. Very nice home that is peaceful, yet fun, that is surrounded by natural beauty.

Full hook ups 30amp and 50 amp. Tarred streets, gravel sites. Onsite access to hundreds of miles of ATV trails of beautiful AZ desert and mountains. Very quiet but close to I 10. Extremely friendly courteous staff and residents. No tents or backpacking.

GuideThe north shore offers great opportunities to camp right next to Alamo Lake. Many camping sites can be found alone side of the roads. There are many atv trails for exploring. We saw two entry points for the AZ Peace Trail. We drove right to the shore line and camped. The lake offers the opportunity for fishing. From the shore line we could see tilapia literally jumping out of the water. A camper near by caught a 5lb bass.
The area has a large population of donkeys that roam the area. The area has a population of bats that we enjoyed watching in the evening. As nice as the area is, we were surprised how few people visited the area on the weekend. During the week days, we were the only campers in the area.
Although the roads are gravel, I believe that a car can manage the terrain.
This is definitely a location that we will visit often.
