Far and close enough to Quartzsite

I like this LTVA because it’s far enough from I10 that you don’t hear traffic, yet easy driving distance to town. Pit toilets are good for those that don’t have black tanks.

LTVA Camping is….Interesting

First time camping on BLM land and we like it. Plenty of wide open space, you can camp near the entrance or far back in the area depending on your preferences. There are minimal services such as water, trash disposal and dump stations. Proximity depends on where you camp. Upside is that RVs are able to spread out; downside is it isn’t as easy to meet fellow campers.

The Good and the Bad

The good: water, trash, dump are all available here. Very level ground. The bad: people. So many people. The price you pay for the good.

Boondocking, Desert style

We boondocked at this location in January and found the weather reliving from the cold north.  There is water, dump and garbage available upon entering/exiting the property.  There is a large expanse of desert to choose were to set up.  We paid $40.00 for 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment of being in the desert.  I will give some advice.  When choosing a spot, look at other RVs in the immediate area, if they have a generator sitting next to the rig, move on.  We moved 2 times before finally finding a spot were we did not have to listen to a noisy generator for hours on end, if not overnight.

Boondocking at its best

We love boondocking and spending two weeks in Quartzsite during the January RV show was amazing. Be prepared for large crowds but you’ll have a blast!

Amazing BLM Camping with it ALL!

Dispersed camping for a nominal fee ($40 for 14 days; $180 for 7 months from Sept 15-April 15; free during the summer months) and just 4 miles outside of town. You cannot hear either Interstate 10 or Hwy 95 if you choose a site close to the mountains. Services available on-site include a few pit toilets, trash dumpsters, potable/non-potable water and a sewage dump. You are allowed to stay in one place during the duration of your stay, or move around the region. Be sure to register at the BLM office at the entrance to this area.

Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and very easy access to hiking and OHV trails. Sunrises and sunsets are endless and jaw dropping! Easy access back into town for food, gas, firewood, laundry, and just about anything an RVer or camper could need.
