Best RV Parks & Resorts near Quartzsite, AZ

Quartzsite, Arizona serves as a major hub for RV camping, particularly during winter months when snowbirds flock to the desert. Arizona Sun RV Park offers full hookups with 50-amp service on gravel sites that accommodate large motorhomes, with convenient access to town amenities. Rice Ranch RV Park provides 242 sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, plus both 30-amp and 50-amp options for various RV power needs. Shady Lane RV Park operates seasonally from September 15 to April 15, featuring big-rig friendly spaces with complete hookups including water, electric, sewer, and access to a sanitary dump station. Ameri-Can Trails RV Park rounds out the options with full hookup sites and 50-amp service. As one RVer noted, "We stopped in Arizona Sun this past spring. Really made for bigger self-enclosed rigs, we made use of recharging our batteries after several weeks of boondocking."

Winter represents peak season for Quartzsite RV parks, with many facilities operating only from October through April. Verizon cell service is generally strong throughout the area, though WiFi quality varies significantly between parks. One traveler mentioned, "The WiFi signal is strong but the routers are in serious trouble. Frequently drop internet and frequently drop you off the WiFi." Most RV parks in Quartzsite feature gravel roads and sites rather than concrete pads, with varying degrees of levelness. Pets are welcome at virtually all RV campgrounds in the region, though specific restrictions may apply. Proximity to Interstate 10 means easy access for big rigs, but also creates background noise at some parks closer to the highway. Propane refills are readily available in town, and many parks offer on-site laundry facilities and showers for guests, making extended stays comfortable for full-time RVers.

    Quartzite - La Posa

Camping in the winter in the desert, nice

I camped in La Posa South area which is one of several areas for long term camping on BLM land near Quartzsite, AZ. You can buy a permit to camp in any of the areas for the season which I believe starts in November and ends in April. They also offer permits for two week intervals if you are not planning on camping all season. It is dry camping although there is a dump station and water available along with a row of dumpsters in each area for trash. This place fills up in the winter but there are still plenty of areas to find a good camping spot. If you do camp farther out watch out for traffic from ATV's and four wheelers who don't seem to believe the speed limits apply to them.

USMC Venture Lodging at Martinez Lake

    Great location, questionable staff

Quiet, clean, remote little military family camp on Lake Martinez with concrete RV sites and full hook ups, 50 amp electric only, but they have a loaner 30 amp adapter if they can find it. Park models and cabins available for those who do not tent camp or RV. Various types of water craft available for rent and limited docking for your own boat.

Easy to get camp site reservations in Summer. Have not tried here in winter as the place fills up with military retirees/ snow birds.

Staff on the other hand is mentally lost at best. Seems like they don’t really know what’s what most of the time ( refer back to the 50/30 amp adaptor that they usually can’t find as their storage location is on the floor beside the desk). The store is adequately stocked with alcohol, USMC souvenirs, but very lacking the things campers need most often, ie toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap etc. they don’t even sell popcorn, how can one camp without popcorn.

Despite the “lost in space” staff and the “non” mercantile in a remote place, I give this place 4 stars as it is quiet, inexpensive and a great little spot away from the city.

    Ameri-Can Trails RV Park

    Quite place

Quiet RV site with tons of cute baby bunnies running all around when the sun starts to go down.

    Nice clean pool

Slab of cement with tables on each of them at each site Really good tables not wooden broken ones but really nice tables. Pull through sites with full hook ups they have daily weekly and monthly rates

Nice community center with lots of activities going on so check the calendar so you can enjoy the activities they have going on You’re nearby to a gas station and the store if you need anything other than that overall grade RV park with new management

    Quartzite - La Posa

    Boondocking at its best

La Posa BLM has several entrances and is massive. It makes reviews tough on this because it depends which area you are in. I’m am reviewing Tyson Wash and South.

I do not recommend Tyson Wash for large RVs. They are there, but there are areas where the ground is deceptively soft. We got our 38ft class a stuck and had to be towed out. It’s stunning and is very quiet there, but use extreme caution with heavy rigs.

After we were freed, we crossed over to South. South is the area where you can dump, get water, and empty trash. You MUST have a permit to use the stations. There are two permits; short and long term. Short is two weeks and $40. Long (LTVA) is Sept 15-Apr 15 and is $180.

Because South is access to the stations, it is very busy there. People park in groups and are quite close. If you like socializing and whatnot, the lower part of South is for you. The upper area is a dirt road access in but very quiet with enormous space between rigs. It is almost entirely big rigs who have tip outs and such…much more private area. Please do your best to respect the space up in that area. It’s literally the reason for being there.

This is probably one of the best Boondocking areas I’ve ever seen if you know what you want. Because of the stations, there are reasonable fees but I highly recommend it.

Villa Verde RV & Mobile Park

    A little ran down

Ran down and outdated. Pull through sites, back in sites both with full hook ups. Dump station Tables at some spots but not all You can get a very low rate here so negotiate because they don’t have much business and you can get a good price. This is also a mobile home park and In the back they have storage and extra parking if needed. The hosts are very nice. No showers No bathrooms

    Arizona Oasis RV Resort

    Right on the Colorado River

Easy in and out off the 10 freeway, large rv friendly, river spots back up to a grassy area on the river, cabin and RV rentals available, laundry room, clean facilities and friendly staff. Right on the California/ AZ border, close to Blythe for groceries and restaurants. Great place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours. All sites are full hook up, streets are gravel, sites have a cement pad and the rest is gravel and can accommodate even the longest set ups.

What to do

Desert ATV exploring: Trails surrounding Quartzsite are popular with off-road enthusiasts. "Nice place for off road vehicles since you can drive to the desert trails in about 2 minutes and ride for hours," notes a visitor to Arizona Oasis RV Resort, making it ideal for day trips on ATVs and UTVs.

Community activities: Many RV parks host organized social events. At Black Rock RV Village, "They have activities throughout the week. They have mail boxes as well. We love it hear," explains a camper who appreciated the social calendar options during their stay.

What campers like

Desert sunsets: The clear desert skies provide spectacular evening views. "The Colorado River was lovely. Sunsets nice too," notes a camper from Arizona Oasis RV Resort, highlighting one of the natural features visitors appreciate most.

Laundry facilities: After dusty desert adventures, on-site laundry becomes essential. A visitor to Shady Lane RV Park mentioned, "Clean and beautifully landscaped. Friendly campers and we even were blessed with a large thanksgiving dinner!" demonstrating the practicality and community atmosphere at campgrounds.

Swimming pools: During warmer months, pools provide welcome relief. "The kids loved the pool and there is a covered area that is shaded to sit and enjoy watching them," shares a camper from Black Rock RV Village, pointing out features beyond basic hookups that enhance longer stays.

What you should know

Summer temperatures: Extreme heat dominates summer months. "We stayed here a week because it was just too hot to boondock 112-118°F during the day and 84°F at 5 o'clock in the morning," reports a camper at Arizona Sun RV Park, explaining why full hookups become necessary during summer visits.

Variable WiFi quality: Internet access varies significantly between parks. "The WiFi signal is strong but the routers are in serious trouble. Frequently drop internet and frequently drop you off the WiFi," notes an Ameri-Can Trails camper, reflecting typical connectivity challenges throughout the area.

Electrical billing practices: Some parks charge separately for electricity. At Arizona Sun RV Park, a visitor explained, "They do charge separately for electricity. I can understand why," referring to the high air conditioning usage during hot periods.

Tips for camping with families

Pool facilities: Campgrounds with swimming options provide essential recreation. "Nice clean pool. Slab of cement with tables on each of them at each site. Really good tables not wooden broken ones but really nice tables," notes a visitor at Ameri-Can Trails RV Park, highlighting features that make family stays more comfortable.

River access: Water recreation offers relief from desert heat. At Arizona Oasis, a camper shared: "River was awesome for the kids. Sites had so many bites from the first night we did not enjoy going out once the sun began setting. We tried sprays, candles, and other products and they helped a little but still bad."

Playground availability: Limited parks offer dedicated children's areas. "Covered rv parking for an additional fee as well as playground for children and dog run for your fur babies," mentions an Arizona Oasis visitor, noting amenities that accommodate the entire family.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: Experienced RVers recommend specific site locations. "We lucked out with a water-front site! Don't expect a lot - it's a parking lot more or less - but it gets the job done and it's better than others out there even though its a bit pricy," advises an RV camper at Arizona Oasis RV Resort.

Package receiving services: Some rv sites near Quartzsite, Arizona accommodate long-term needs. "We appreciated the ability to receive packages via UPS while staying here," mentions an Arizona Sun RV visitor, highlighting an important service for extended stays.

Dump station availability: Limited facilities make this an important consideration. At Texas BBQ RV Park, a camper noted, "This place isn't the best but enough to get you through the night and a dump station," pointing out practical necessities for self-contained camping.
