The Wayside Oasis has been a hidden treasure in the middle of nowhere for decades. Originally named the Wayside Inn, the restaurant and RV park was visited by mostly lake visitors. As the Wayside became more known, the news of the excellent food and accommodations spread and the Wayside, although still remote, has become a favorite stop for lake visitors, hunters, ATVs and travelers alike.

Conveniently located near beautiful Alamo Lake, The Wayside Oasis offers its visitors an array of activities to enjoy: camping, fishing, ATV trails, geocaching, hiking, gold panning, photography or just enjoying the tranquility of the beautiful desert.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

Great Campground with easy water access...lots of options

There are several different RV/Camping options at Pleasant Harbor Marina / RV Resort.

    1. In the resort with Full Hookups

    2. Out on the "flat" with just water and power (dump station on site)

    3. Out on the "flat" with no hookups. (can also tent / car camp)

As compared to the Maricopa County Parks side, this has a little bit more party atmosphere, is less secluded, but you can almost always get at least a boondocking spot without a reservation. They also have large events here as well so check their calendar for the weekend you are wanting to go!

We keep a boat at Lake Pleasant and are part of the Arizona Yacht Club so we are up here all the time.

    Pioneer RV Resort 55+

Out ran a winter storm and stumbled upon this gem!

Great place for some R&R! While out-running a winter storm in Northern Arizona we headed South. Traveling through the Phoenix area we thought it would be hard to find a GOOD, CLEAN and AFFORDABLE place to stay since it was during the winter holidays. We lucked out when we happened upon this gem. The resort was safe, clean, had great amenities, and the staff were great.

-- AND THEY HAD GREAT PRICES! --

It did seem the pull-thru sites were a bit tight. However, we stayed in one of the standard RV spaces. So, we can't confirm that they actually are tight, it just appeared that way.

We did not have a picnic table at our site. (It does not appear that there are tables at any of the sites.) But there was plenty of room between rigs to park a vehicle -and- set up our own tables and chairs.

There is a shooting range near by. People and pets with issues hearing gun/rifle shots during the day should be aware, you -can- hear the shots being fired. It's not deafening, not loud at all, in our humble opinion. You just know there's shots being fired.

At the time of this review you can save even more money because they provide AAA and Good Sam discounts!

If you're looking for a nice, clean, FRIENDLY, resort with amazing prices, Pioneer RV Resort is the place!

-- WE WILL STAY THERE AGAIN. --

(Our apologies for lack of more pictures, it was pouring rain during our stay. However, we will say that the pictures on their website are indeed representative of the resort, amenities, and cleanliness.)

    Sundial Mobile & RV Park

    Simple and affordable

Simple and affordable RV park. Pretty much the ONLY one we could get ahold of in the phoenix area that isn’t 55+. They are currently renovating the bathrooms and laundry, so we basically only have hookups and no amenities, which is fine for us. There’s plenty of stores nearby. It’s a close enough drive to Phoenix to enjoy the city, but you save quite a bit by staying here as apposed to campgrounds closer. Spots were pretty tight, no privacy. Small concrete area for a patio. It’s a very flat land so leveling was quick. There are a lot of (and looks like most of the park) is long term, and they have mailboxes which is a good option if someone is looking for a longer stay. Overall simple and affordable, priced at $282 for a week in April 2023

    Clean RV park

Easy to get to from the 10 freeway, good sized RV park w decent sized sites, park is kept clean, pool, Pickleball courts, cornhole area, dog park, huge laundry room, and the people are nice. Regular pull through spots are kind of like buddy spots as your doors face each other. Back in and deluxe sites are decent sized. Roadways are asphalt and large enough to maneuver bigger rigs through. All sites are full hook up w 30 & 50 amp electrical.

    Lewis River Rv Park

    The worst of the worst

Do not waste your time visiting this place. Do not get sucked in by the river because the RV park is the worst I have ever seen. Campers burning down because of bad wiring throughout the park. Long term tenants that refuse to clean up their sites, allow their kids to run wild and trash the place further, an owner that cares only about how much he can can you and suck as much money as he can out of you while providing less than adequate and most often less than safe services and an entire staff that is treated like something the owner stepped in and wiped off his shoes.  There are way better places in the area!

    Willow Lake RV Park

Cute RV Park Walking Distance to Lake

Park situated just north of Willow Lake. We have a 32 ft Class C and tow a 4 Door Wrangler. No problem getting there. Plenty of spots with full hookups. They have a section for "overnight" and a separate section for "Long Term." We were there for 2 nights. No problems at all. Little shop had basics. Didn't use their facilities, but that was just because we had our own.

    North Ranch

    Good for One Night

North Ranch is an Escapees RV park with large gravel lot and closely spaced sites. Full hook up with only 30 amp available. There is also another area for dry camping. This is a good place if just passing through and need to do some laundry and dump and fill and take a nice long shower. The sites are fairly close as most RV parks are, clean flat gravel sites. Nothing special but nothing much to complain about either.

Road noise was constant as was ATV use as many of the campers had them. Covid restrictions in place and a mask is required.

    Amenities:

2 laundry areas with washer dryers for$1.25/each open 24/7

Dog walk and fenced in dog park near the main road

Showers Cactus garden walking area- very beautiful and well care for

    Propane on site

    Recycling bin- mixed recycling accepted

    Garbage dumpster

Dump station(was closed when we were there)

    Exercise room

Back in sites are$23 for escapee members and$28 for non members. Pull through sites are a few dollars more.

Weak Verizon and AT&T with occasional streaming if you don’t mind waiting for buffering.

    Great Campsite

Staff was helpful and friendly. I had to leave a voicemail to make a reservation and they were prompt in returning my call for my reservation. There is a half mile hiking trail to a gorgeous lake. My son and I had a good time climbing around on the rocks. There’s a lot of nature to enjoy and lots of things to keep kids occupied. Full RV hookups at each site. I will return.

    Very clean

We stayed for one night (June 4) and it was over 100°F. All spots have a small grill, picnic table, full hook-ups, showers, laundry, and a community room. Verizon worked great. Concrete slab to park on and rocks around instead of grass.

    Stay away

This place is a dump. Dirty, dusty gravel parking lot with people right on top of you. Spaces are not even close to level. Not the place to hang out if you have Covid concerns. Might be ok for a quick overnight. Better to head south to Wickenburg and check out their dispersed camping and RV parks

    Busy

Beautiful area, but it seems that everyone else thinks so too. I waited 15 min in line to get up to the check in booth just to get in the park and when I left the next day the cars were backed up again. This park would be a 5 star plus if it wasn’t for the amount of people and the price for a rv site in a county park. The rv park within was nice, not too close together. The semi developed park is what I was looking for, no electricity or water at the sites, potable water in the area but only allowed 16’ trailer or less so that left me out. The developed sites all had electric and water at each site and one or two had sewer, but at a premium. It cost an additional $8 per night. Their was a dump station at the entrance of the rv park for everyone else.

    Leaf Verde RV Resort

    Typical RV park. Snooze.

This is an RV Park not far from my home, so I reviewed it so I’d have some practical advice for friends and family members traveling through the area. It’s nothing exciting - just a big paved RV parking lot crossed by paved streets. The speed limit in 1/2mph increments was entertaining, but I think I’d recommend this place only if all the local county parks happened to be full. Boring.

    Constellation Park

    Convenient - close to Town

If there isn’t a rodeo across the street then this is an excellent place to stop for a night if you’re passing through to Tucson like we were. Each site has a nice fire pit and the ground is pretty level - lots of RV parking. Much more sites than I read about too. Around 30 sites. Not “8” like the website read. Definitely not a place you stay more than one night though.

Got a great deal on a monthly spot here. Not super close to anything, but wound up exploring Jerome and Sedona to the North and most of Phoenix to the South while I was there with my 35ft rig. The facilities are so so, but again, great for the price. Felt very welcome and safe at this RV park.
