The Mount Rushmore State is home to seven National Park Service sites that range from jewel-encrusted caves to ancient fossil beds. Strap on your backpack and hike the state’s 111-mile Centennial Trail, which provides a north to south taste of the Black Hills through prairie grasslands, dense forests, and high country terrain. Check with the different land management agencies along the way for specifics on where backcountry camping is allowed or where to find established campgrounds. Rather bike? The 109-mile George S. Mickelson Trail runs parallel to the Centennial Trail and is a rails-to-trails, car-free dream.

Lots of water fowl frequent the area as well as deer in the evening. Kids will have a great time exploring the lower acreage. We plan to add new features & amenities to the park every year. 50/30 Amp RV Sites - All RV sites have electricity, water, and sewer service availability. Our spaces vary in size (up to 60ft in length). Also these sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Most all of our sites are pull-through. Space for additional parking is also available upon request.

Camping Cabins - These cabins are furnished with either two double beds or a double bed and a set of bunk beds. All cabins are equipped with A/C, refrigerator, table, and chairs. Outside, along with the amazing views of the Black Hills, each cabin has it's own porch swing, picnic table, propane grill, and fire pit. Grilling utensils and all linens are included. These cabins are not equipped with plumbing, but the adjacent shower house will fulfill your traveling needs. With large bathrooms, free hot showers, and a coin operated laundry facility for our guests.

Tent Spaces - Primitive tent sites are furnished with a picnic table and a fire ring. The shower house is centrally located on the property and is offered to all guests at Three Forks campground. Also, limited sites with electricity/water are available for tenting guests.

Located outside of Hermosa, South Dakota, Battle Creek Camping Resort is open year round. We provide fully stocked unique camping options with Domes and glamping tents to pick from. Currently, all of our RV sites are boondocks option only, while under construction. Pull-through and back-up sites are 100 ft pads.

We have fun and unique bathhouses with full showers and restrooms.

Check In: Check in time is 4:00-9:00pm MST. Reservation is held until 7:00am MST, the following morning, then you will be considered a no-show and at this time the reservation will be canceled and re-opened for another guest and no refund of any kind will be given. \*Please call if planning to arrive later than 9pm MST. Please note that quiet hours are from 9pm-7am MST every day.
