We love it here!! Even the spaces are a little tight you still get plenty of privacy. This is our 3rd trip and we’ve always been happy!!
Was able to tent fairly close to the lot. No cell service. If you bring a handsaw youll be good for firewood. Bugs were pretty bad. Awesome sunrise.
A few of us rode in to the steam mills campsite on motorcycles and took a couple days to enjoy the mountain air and views.
All the positive reviews about this place are accurate! Beautiful, clean, well maintained, lots to do, great value for your $$

Went there this weekend. The site was clean and the pond area was very scenic. Not too rowdy neighbors which was a plus for us
My first time staying at Stokes Stat Forest, December 2020. Chose this campsite based on the photos online, the river right there was a big deal. I knew it would be cold and planned accordingly. The days were a good temperature for hiking, the nights were chilly. Once the fire died down, I snuggled…

This was my second time camping at High Point State Park, Sawmill Area, October 2020. I chose this campsite, 031, based on the photos on the reservation website and boy was I disappointed. We wanted to setup our large tent on the **flat** gravel driveway and our hammocks and relaxation area on…

My first time camping at High Point State Park, Sawmill Area, September 2019. I chose a campsite close to the restrooms and water spigot. It turned out to be very secluded, minus the foot traffic to the restroom at all hours. The campsite is mostly gravel so the platform is necessary. There are no…

My first trip to this campground was September 2020. We wanted to get out of the house, but stay clear of other campers during the pandemic. This campsite, CS52, was in the woods and we were able to get the illusion of privacy by parking the cars along the road as a makeshift wall and pitching our…

This was my second time camping at Swartswood State Park. I got one of the last available campsites and it was okay, but not one I would have normally chosen. This campsite was in the open grass area and not very private, but that was okay for this trip as I spent the days hiking around lakes and…

My partner and I hit this campground up during the era of Covid and it was a cool place to stay. The location was on POINT!! Definitely a beautiful place to stroll along and enjoy the wilderness. The downside though was how loud it got at night with parties and music. I never wanna dampen a good…
We camped during Memorial Day weekend and had a blast, even in the rain! The staff were.fantastic and lots of activities to keep us busy. Sites were small so not a ton of privacy. Everything was clean and neat and we felt very comfortable.
Peekamoose is a very nice place if you’re into the primitive thing. I suppose it’s my fault for not doing my due diligence. I was in the lower area and had to walk pretty far with everything and make at least 6-8 trips for each load-in and out. I went and bought a wagon after the first day to carry…
Best site in Catskills, sunrise and sunset
Shawangunk was SUCH a nice place to stay. So many good things - though a few things to keep in mind when you're booking, too.
I definitely recommend trying to get the walk-in (meaning you can't drive to them) sites (8-15) because they're just a little bit more set back and kind of wonderfully…
