Had to leave

This is a nice state park, and seems to be a favorite of the locals. The campsites on the north side are VERY close together and we had 2 or 3 local families with kids and dogs surrounding us. We went to a local hotel.

Nice but would be better in spring/fall

I came in on a Saturday and stayed three nights in the electric area. I reserved the last electric site which turned out to be wheelchair accessible. I hadn't seen that when making the res.It was bigger and off to the side, away from the row of RV park style sites.   I rode my bike around and saw…

Hidden gem

This campsite is hidden just below the bathroom on the West end of the big parking lot. Most campers pitch tent in the wooded area in the center of the parking lot - this is off the west end of the parking lot. Wonderful trails and you get to camp right in the middle of an aspen grove.

Well kept, friendly

Well kept, neighbors were friendly, and the sound of the river was soothing. Camping spaces weren't packed together but not so far apart to be considered private. I'd happily come here again :)

Super Convenient but dusty

This place is super convenient to Santa Fe. Easy to find and plenty of spots. We opted not to camp in the “lot” where a lot of people set up. We drove back the road a bit further for some privacy. The area is very dusty. Given the proximity to town there were some campsites that had a degree…

Amazing area especially for horse lovers

This area has always been one of my favorite places. Warm summer days with cool summer nights. Caught one of the biggest rainbows I've ever seen personally near here.

Nice Campground with some age

I did enjoy staying in this Campground on the North end. Nice picnic tables with protection, water at each site, trash cans nearby, and vault toilets. The parking could be refreshed but the scenery is excellent. I would have preferred site 38N

Fine for a one night stay

We tent camped and the spaces are well maintained and include a little fire pit, picnic table, place for your car, and fairly flat space for the tent. It’s easy to get to from the highway, but that’s also the downside because you can hear all of the traffic. The bathrooms were clean and have a code…

A nicer KOA

4/5/2021 Right off the highway. One of the nicer KOA's we have stayed at in the Southwest. True, the sites are close together which is typical at KOA's but this campground had lots of established trees which was nice (meaning shade). Many pull through sites. Full hookups. One of the unique things…

Isolated buy interesting history

April 16, Brrr.. at night, below freezing but just a couple days before 45 to 50 at night. It's one of those places that defines, "you can't get there from here" Adequate sites with 30amp service, nice Casita style covers over Pickwick tables. Great ranger interaction. we drove up with our…

Kozy, Clean and Accommodating

We were hit by a blizzard driving through the I-25 pass from Santa Fe to Denver and had to take refuge in the KOA Las Vegas, NM for 2 nights. They quickly got us a space and allowed us to wait out the snow. Clean restrooms and showers, a shop in the grounds that serves breakfast. Hikes nearby. Very…
