Pine Springs June 2021

The tent sites are clustered together near the vault toilet (smelly) and they are all walk in sites. Only tents are allowed in this area. The RV parking lot is by flush toilets and sink area. No tents are allowed. The flies were terrible! It is really hot right now and shade is limited.

Easy to find, Bright Stars

This is basically just a big rocky lot. Perfect for one night in our truck bed camper. Some highway noise, but not offensive. No toilet, flat dessert for miles - so you have to be less than shy 😉

Easy to find, basic, flat

This campsite is super easy to find seeing that it’s right off the mile 10 marker. Literally just flat ground, no amenities of course, but good proximity to Carlsbad Caverns NP. Perfect for one night, pack out your trash!

Easy and quiet boondocking.

When we pulled in we were the 2nd rv there. The lot is huge so we spread out. By the morning 3 more people arrived without any crowding issues. The surrounding area is sparse and beautiful. Be careful of wildlife, though!

Literally a big square of rocks in a desert but the stars made it worth it.

Solid Pick but Nothing Special

This was our first time staying at a KOA and in general, we liked it. It’s about an hour from the Caverns which is doable, the staff is friendly and the amenities (shower, laundry, flush toilets) are very nice to have. It’s a great site for those who prefer glamping. However, it’s not very scenic…

A gem

A great stop over. Cheap full hookups or boondocking. During the week you pretty much have the whole park to yourself.

Great spot!

All spots are larger than typical koa campgrounds. There are Fire pits! Large playground for the kiddos and pet friendly!

Quiet, off the beaten path

Very cute place, has spots for tents and just rv or car camping. Everyone is respectful of others out there and there is one vault toliet that is pretty clean. Would visit again if i were passing through!

Great views

We found the place empty so we took a scenic corner. Big trash dumpster on the gravel.

Great, clean, Carlsbad Caverns

Great small (free) campground very close to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Surprised at how well-kept it was and the restroom is very clean. There are about 5/6 RV/campervan spots and equal tent spots, each with a picnic table under a canopy, a BBQ and fire ring. There were 3 cars parked at the…

Good Stop Between Carlsbad and Guadalupe

Nice open spot right off the highway. Drive up the paved road and it’s on your left. Gravel has been laid down so it’s nice and firm for campers/RVs. Also has a garbage can there. No hookups or bathrooms. We tented but did so just outside the fence. There was several fire rings out there and the…

This is a gem.

It's a City Park campground but well maintained and a well-stocked Lake. You can boondock for a small fee or have a full hookup.

First KOA for us—won’t be the last

I was a bit nervous about the location of this KOA when I first booked it, but it turned out to be perfect for us. We arrived from OK City, so the slightly north location was welcomed, plus it was a great spot to leave from when e we headed to White Sands. The sites were spacious and the playground…
