Surprising oasis

In an area of mostly open fields, this KOA is filled with nice trees. It is a very large campground with RV sites, cabins, and tent sites. This is a very kid friendly campground, almost too much. Twice within an hour a train full of kids rolled by my site shouting. There is a large playground,…

Needs some work

This campground is okay however it needs some maintenance. It’s seems like several of the sites need to be cleaned up and re-leveled. They were working on the volleyball site when we visited so maybe they are in the middle of renovations? The cabins in the back had some nice views and for the most…

Clean and Efficient

We stayed one night here. It is a nice campground in an urban area. It seemed that it needed a little landscape maintenance and was a bit dusty. Most everything was shut down for the season which is something to keep in mind if you visit in the fall.

Pleasant surprise at the end of gravel road

We were looking for somewhere to camp near the Tiber Reservoir/Lake Elwell. Stumbled upon this beauty. Run by a lovely couple, this spot is quiet, beautiful and clean. Lots of space between sites. Cleanest pit toilets ever, and power hookups all for $20 a night! The hosts were super friendly and…

Hidden gem! Great escape and so close to Great Falls.

We were shocked this campground wasn’t full, it’s only an hour from Great Falls and the road is your typical gravel, a few larger potholes but completely doable in any car (or towing). Lots of shaded spots (available on a Friday and Saturday night in mid-August!), super clean facilities, and a very…

Basic campground but lots of space.

Tiber Damn has some of the best sunsets I have ever seen. The campground is well kept but basic. Camping near the water is permitted in some area but you have to arrive early as those spots are usually taken. Water is good for fishing and boating. Highly recommended.

Legit.

This place is pretty neat. 12 permanent campsites each with a fire ring and picnic table. Potable water and vault toilets are also available on site. We stayed for a weekend and had the place to ourselves. Easy access to plenty of hiking and decent fishing. Definitely worth checking out.

Easy going

A nice campground with both tent and RV sites. Nicely separated from the RV sites so that  I wasn't breathing in the RV exhaust. There is the canoe drop in that is quite busy during the day but not a hassle, It does have quiet hours that are enforced by the camp hosts. The cliff on the other side…

Family friendly park

This place has amazing view with some awesome walking trails. There is also a salmon feeding station which can be fun to see. In. The winter this place provides some really nice sledding experiences. One of the coolest things here is the WORLD’S SMALLEST RIVER! Called the Roe River at 201 feet

Full toilets!!!

A pretty basic campsite. There is some shade and “buildings” to provide shade. No really good or visible hiking areas since it’s mostly flat ground. Fishing is good though, and at night you can catch catfish! The worst part of this campsite is the two outhouses. Though they are nicer stone ones,…

Great Hike, But Cows!

I never slept here, but your only shade will be the provided “shelters”. The fire-pits are not shaded as well. The hiking up to the Hole-in-The-Wall is AWESOME! Though you will have to do some easy rock climbing so be prepared. It’s also really easy to fall hundreds of feet as well. Since you will…

Hikes and pictographs

Pretty nice shaded campsite. There are two hiking opportunities here. The first is the awesome Neat Coulee Canyon where it’s a short hike with small climbing (and bigger climbing opportunities; pretty risky). There are also pictographs in the opposite direction of the campsite to the canyon. It is…

Cool dog

It’s a nice clean campsite to begin your boating adventure on the river with lots of space. The cabin has free WiFi to finish up work before heading into nature. The bathrooms are pretty average for outhouses as well. Also, if your lucky, the camp’s doggo May visit you. He is free to pet!

City Camping Tucked Away

You have to drive through part of Great Falls, Montana to get to this campground, but once you are in it, you forget all about the city. You get the full camping (in a campground) experience, but you can easily drive into the city to pick up whatever you forgot to pack.

Our site was in what they…
