Great Find

Follow the signs to “ camping”. There was nobody there and a pretty awesome playground for the kids. clean accessible and a drive through a quaint little town. What else could you ask for?

Nice, quiet spot.

Hidden gem. Just a few mins off I-80 but no noise or signs of heavytraffic. Cute, quaint little town. All pull through spots and all sites are level. Not all spots have picnic tables or fire rings but there were very few campers so we had our pick of spots. Playset for younger kids. Golf course and…

Right on the Water

We lucked out and nabbed a site right on the water on a really full weekend! It was a BEAUTIFUL view. The bathrooms/shower houses were immaculate and well kept. Solid firewood, $5 for 8 pieces. It was packed but definitely didn't feel like it. We had 5 dogs in our group and spent a lot of time on…

It was a nice spot

I have a 31 foot pull behind camper & I fit fine. We stopped here at 1030 pm coming from Indiana, heading to California & we are first time buyers of a camper. There was no envelopes for the drop box, I emailed them & never got back so I got a night free. The power was fine, the water…

A hidden gem.

Just 2 miles south of I80 but a world apart. This is a great stop if traveling I80. It is a bargain at $20 for full hookups. They have tent sites also.

The park is clean and clearly under utilized as there were only 3 of us in a park with more than 40 sites.

It is very quiet, right in small town…

Huge park

It’s a little ways off the highway through the town of Stuart (Home to 1600 good eggs). There is an upper and lower campground and rumor has it that the lower sites can be a little muddy. Electrical at all the RV sites with grey water access and black water dumping station. Views of the water and…

Had the lake to ourselves!

Although there were RVers and a nice group of Boy Scoutspaet of the time, there was no one else in our tent camping side. We had chilly weather, but marvelous views of the water with a rare flock of pelicans! Some of the trails were muddy, but there plenty of others to choose from. Red buds and…

Just okay - safe for a night

Stopped here on my way to Nebraska and it did the job, but would have driven further to a rest stop if I had the energy. Train comes through around 3 and 5am blowing its horn for 10 seconds. You’re also surrounded by homes so you hear the families and their dogs. There’s electrical, water and…

So much to do!

The best feature of this park, in my opinion, is the four-mile paved recreation trail that goes around the entire 171-acre lake. Good for walking, running, or biking. The lake is beautiful, and we also saw people boating, kayaking, and fishing. Although swimming is also allowed, the beach was not…

Absolutely amazing

Our favorite place so far! What an absolutely beautiful state park. We were in a 30 ft motorhome and had a fantastic site right by the playground which was so fun for our little girls. Very clean campground with friendly folks all around. There was firewood for purchase and we had a great time.…

Great little parking spot

We rolled in around 8:45 on a Wednesday evening, grabbed an envelope and paid for our night as we were traveling through on our trip to Colorado. It was easy to find this location. Be sure to have window shades as the spots are well lit. There is access to a public bathroom and shower. There is…

One of the best sw Iowa Lakes

I will first off stay I have not been to a lot of Iowa parks. But I will say the ones I have been to, that this is the nicest or one of them. They have concessions, boat rentals, boating of all types, fishing, and trails. There are very nice picnic areas, and the bathrooms or restroom facilities…

Great trip!

Nicely maintained. Nice clean no-wake lake. Gets very quiet at 10:30 curfew. Clean showers/bathroom once the night bugs were cleared out.
