Nature Haven by the Red Rock Lake

A charming, natural, beautiful 40-acre Tri-pond farm camping ground is waiting for you!! Come and experience its healing powers! One geodesic dome glamping site and four beautiful RV/tent campsites sit in a quiet, peaceful campground with 3 private ponds stocked with fish, plus 10 acres of all-natural tree cover on the fenced, hilly, 40-acre land. It is about 50 miles from the city of Des Moines. The site has a good cell phone signal from most providers. The geodesic dome tent is unique in Iowa, providing a more comfortable stay while still enjoying nature's magnificent gift.

We are open year-round for you to enjoy four seasons' world excitement: Springs, Summers, Falls, and of course winters!!

All of the campsites have plenty of space and are apart from each other with good privacy. Each site has a fire pit with a tripod for cooking food, a "picnic table," and a solar light. The drinking water tap is near the entrance, not at each site. For RVs, you can add water before you get to the gate. Site 1, site 2, and site 3 are on top of the hills with a beautiful view of ponds and the lake, and site 4 is in the woods and has full shade in summer and walking trails in the woods. Site 2 can be used as a group site that can host 1-10 tents or RVs at the same time. Please message me if you want to book the group site; I can provide a quote based on your group size.

There is also a lot to do near the Red Rock Lake area. The Whitebreast camping and swimming Beach, Red Rock Lake boat ramp, Historic Coal Ridge Church, Stu Kuyper hiking trail, and Youth park are within one mile from our camping site.

Tri-Pond camping sites are the perfect campsites for family relaxing camping, Van-camping, road trip stops, friends gathering, or coming and staying for local events in the nearby cities, such as Des Moines, Newton, Pella, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Monroe, Pleasantville, Indianola, etc. Tulip Time, hot air balloon Festival, car race…

Notes: four-wheel vehicle recommended since the campground is hilly here and there. You will need bug repellent during summer. We do not use any chemicals on site. Ticks are common during early spring and summer in grassy areas and woods, but not usually found during Fall and Winter. There may be hunting gun sounds near or far during hunting seasons; these are from public land nearby. We do not allow any kind of hunting or trapping on our camping ground.

The site has plenty of space for big rig boondocking near the gate.

Notes to campers:

1. Hilly road. Drive less than 10 m/ h carefully; some areas near the ponds have Steep slopes.

2. Quiet time: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am

3. Need bug repellent during summer. Ticks are common in the grassy area and woods, but are not usually find on area grass has been mowed. We do not use any chemicals on site.

4. Possible coyotes on the property; take care of small children, especially at night

5. Watch out for the dead trees in the woods.

6. Pay attention to water safety. No swimming in the ponds. A swimming beach is one mile from the campsite: Whitebreast Beach at Red Rock Lake, with $5 per car during summer.

7. No swimming in the campsite ponds, just for fishing. You can go swimming at Whitebreast Beach, which is less than a mile from the campsite. And the shower houses there are clean and well maintained.

8. Please do not pick or eat any mushrooms on site. The Mushrooms on site may be poisonous.

9. No hunting at any time.
