Clean but noisy

Such a clean park, the host was wonderful! I made the mistake of picking the weekend before the Fourth of July to go on a camping trip. Lots of kiddos running around, so if you have kids this is a great park for you! We just wanted to be a little more secluded. We may be back someday when we have our own family!

Beautiful park on Miss River. Great value

Mud Lake is a wonderful county park near Dubuque. Beautiful views of the Mississippi River. We stayed one night on our way to Minnesota. The sites are mostly sunny. The park streets are gravel with gravel sites. The park is quiet except for the occasional train from the nearby tracks. Great value for $21. Electric and water hookups. Marina and boathouse next door.

Stayed in campsite #35 which has no shade. It was a gravel site which shares a pull-through with site 36. There was more than enough parking for my TT and truck and grass on either side. The site included: picnic table and fire ring. Utilities were located in the rear. 20A/50A electric and water. Site was level. Neighbors were nearby.

AT&T had 2 bars of LTE and Verizon 2 bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 47 Mbps down, 1.3 Mbps up. Verizon data VERY SLOW. No WiFi.

Would stay here again. We camped at Mud Lake Park in a Travel Trailer.

Came across bychance

A little off the beaten path, but a nice place. Pulled in after a fiasco at another campground, was able to get 2 sites over the Fourth of July weekend. Very kid friendly. The camp host was a really nice guy and helped us find a great spot. Walking distance to fishing and a boat launch, great views and a friendly bunch of people.

Mudlake tent camping

Terrible time! From the second me and 2 friends got out of our vehicle, the DNR guy that runs the place harassed us the whole time. He tried to get us to leave multiple times for no apparent reason besides saying the water was gonna rise. But with other campers there camping closer to the river than us, I really didnt understand why he wasn't telling them anything. So within an hr of being there I kinda shrugged it off until I decided to flag him down asking about fire wood. He then stated that they quit selling it at 6 pm and drove away. I then thought well that's understandable since we got there late. until I seen one of our neighbors go over and purchase wood with no problem. At this point I was more less just ready to leave. So as we were packing up one of the people camping next to us asked us why we were packing up already. So I told him the story of why were upset and he stated as he was talking to us that its because we're drinking proly why the dnr guy doesn't want us there. At that point I thought "weird" because the people kiddy corner from us have beer cans laying everywhere and there being loud. So further talking to a few other campers. Apparently they were some friends of his and he doesn't like people drinking at there campsite in general. So all I can say is that place is a joke and I would highly recommend no one ever going there. I gave it 1 star just because it's a nice view camping at the river.
