Great spot!

We stayed labor day weekend. Just pulled in and gave them our $12 a night. No electricity or water in our site. Clean bathrooms. Cheap wood for fires. Really nice fire pits with attached grill. There is a lake here too. Lots of boats. We didn't fish. Beach is closed but the water looked pretty gross. We changed our minds and decided to stay an extra night because it was so peaceful!

Site70. lots of shade for hot days.

Revitalized lake beautiful campground

We ventured south to Geode State Park near Burlington, IA. We are getting the travel trailer tweeked in. We weathered a rainy 🌧 day Saturday (all day). There was enough room that it was not uncomfortable. We started having issues with our propane heater. So what do you do when camping and it has been raining all day? You go for a hike in the woods and find treasures. The sounds or nature are so amazing. The hike was very soggy and I even found a treasure. It was an old can of salve.

Geode Lake Campground

Recent upgrades to campground include some full hookup sites and new shower house. Once blacktop roads inside campground are now "Hardpack" with small loose gravel covering the roadways. The trail system around the lake is in pretty good shape and makes for some great mountain biking. The lake itself has been drained for about 3 years now and shows no signs of being filled again. Though they say it will be. 2020 will be the first year for camping in the newly remodeled campground. So we shall see eh?
