Close sites, little shade. Nice owner's, quiet. Have church with non denominational service on sunday, which is nice.
From someone who typically prefers backpacking and sleeping in remote areas, this campground facility, pretty much in the city, is okay.
The facilities are nice, bathrooms were clean. What I didn't enjoy was how close each RV site is. The sparks from our fire were making their way to our neighbors site.
The campground is situated next to the Trout Run Trail, providing quick and easy access to the 11-mile loop or in to the city center of Decorah.
Overall, decent for a city campground, but very crowded. The tent sites near the river look more spaced out.
We stayed at this KOA on the first night of our trip. Definitely the best KOA experience we've had so far. Check in was quick, spots were easy to pull into, the bathrooms were really clean, and it was surprisingly quiet despite the proximity to the highway. They even had some huge Halloween decorations and gave us some awesome free flannel coozies at check-in.
Very well maintained campground in a small but lovely park. Host was very nice and there were lots of open spots on a Saturday in late September. Loved our tent site with a short walk to the lake and clean bathrooms
This was a nice campground with private sites. We were in site 70e and was very private and close the the showers. Lots of great hiking and forestville is very charming but tours were not running due to COVID. There was no AT&T cell coverage.
Stopped for an overnight, very friendly and helpful! Close to interstate but very peaceful. Owner saw us to our site and lined us up for hookups, saw a lot of families and couples enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. Good Sam discount. Cat, who hadn't travelled before, was fascinated by everything going on. Stay was September 12.
Great campground for our overnight, would be a wonderful extended stay as well. Friendly owners came right up when we pulled in, $35 a night, no cards but check or cash were fine. No Good Sam discount. Easy access off I-35. Guided right into the site, easy hookups. Water had a chlorine taste is the only drawback, but probably no worse than city water. Nice and quiet, many families around. Had a great overnight and a lazy morning before a 2 PM checkout. Would stay again when we're back this way.
We can't wait to go back. Our camp was so private & we were happy because we had a new puppy that was from a hoarding situation & not real social. We didn't want to bother any neighbors if she was loud. She did very well with our other two. They all enjoyed walking on the trails with us😁 The bathrooms & showers were awesome & the park guy was very nice & informative (I feel bad I didn't get his name.) It will definitely be a place we will go back to!
Camped at a backpack site and it was pretty great. 2 mile hike to the site and the site was fantastic. On the water with lots of tree coverage.
Out in the middle of bluff country. This nice campground plays to the active bodied person well. From golf to tubing to an indoor swimming pool and restaurant. This place has a lot to offer.
