Nice, Quiet Campground

Got to the campground around 6pm on a Friday and no one was at the primitive campground which was nice. The picnic table and fire ring were clean and in good condition. By 10:30 the park was quiet and peaceful. Lake hasn't completely filled up yet so no fishing or boating. Would definitely come…

One of my favorite parks

Wallashuck in Pella, iowa is one of my favorite places to camp. It’s mostly quiet and peaceful. Plus town is close and has plenty to entertain or fill up supplies

Peaceful, well maintained, but murky water

Stayed one night on my way back to Maine from GNP. Stayed in #12 just 20ft from waters edge. Space had water and electric, fire ring and tables. The only downside is that the lake water was very murky. I would not want to swim there. Other than that a great place for a nightover.

Fishing on the lake

Campground has nice mature trees and lots of spots available. $18 for full hook up. What a deal. Has a lake you can fish at right in campground. Although it is right next to a major road, but also extremely close to downtown and anything you might need. Bathrooms were outdated and the reason this…

Small River Campground

It is a small river campground, no shower houses, but there is a Porta potty. Never too busy even on holiday weekends.

A lush, quiet, pleasant surprise

Arrived on late afternoon Wednesday and there were plenty of primitive spots available (can’t speak to hook ups). The lake is really clean and lovely, with lush grass and greenery all around. Great spot for birds—saw multiple heron, egret and hawks.

Agree with the other reviews that the sites are…

Nice Little Park!

Hidden gem just outside of Des Moines!

Pros: -Small park (only about 20 spots) but it’s easy to get a spot without reserving ahead -Site 15 for primitive campers is HUGE. Easily the size of 2-3 sites at other campgrounds. -Very shady campground, beautiful trees all around -Nice, well-marked…

Electric sites only, but beautiful area

All campsites at Timmons Grove are$18/night and are electric. I have visited this place many times but only camped once. This place has never been busy when I have visited.

I generally do not camp electric, so$18/night was steep for non-electric tent camping. There is no shower and the…

Off the beaten path county park in Iowa

This campground offered much privacy when I went - I was the only person camping (tent camping). It was very quiet.

That being said, there are not many amenities. It has a vault toilet. I did not check the water hydrant, or even try to locate it, since I brought my own water for one night of…

Campsite at a beautiful little Iowa lake

Union Grove is known for having good lake fishing. The lake is also a great place for kayaking or canoeing.

The campground has mostly RV sites, but there are a handful of smaller tent sites at the back, which are my favorite. The campground is quiet.

Quiet campground in the heart of Iowa

Wolf Creek is a nice little campground near Beaman, IA (Beaman is very small, near Conrad as well which has a grocery store).

The campground has potable water but no showers. There are vault…

Urban campground is near a busy highway

This campground has many sites to choose from - RV with hookups as well as some non-electric tent sites. There are quite a few activities in Marshalltown, and it is within the Marshalltown city limits.
