Serene site

For my Tent only camp site. I loved it. It’s spacious it’s for the most part shaded. It is right next to the lake. I get some views. In the pictures I posted you’ll see what I’m talking about. As far as the campground I did take a drive around it’s pretty big n has a lot of shaded sites. I think…

  • Home sweet home for seven days
  • Unfortunately the bushes were there. If they were gone you’d have a better view of the lake

Great fun for all ages

Spent the weekend here and let's just say it was a blast! Great fishing, nice price for all the amenities. Everything was so much cheaper than those big campgrounds and you get a lot for the price. Friendly atmosphere, peaceful, and very relaxing.

Lovely campground with marina on Carlyle Lake, IL

Boulder is a lovely campground tucked away on Carlyle Lake. It has it's own marina where you can rent a slip for your boat. The sites are well spaced and have a beautiful view of the lake and sunsets!

Quite Lake View

Our FHU site was very easy to access and a very level well graveled site. The site is full shade and wooded with a nice fire pit and lantern post. It is spaced well and you face the lake, so the camper blocks any noise from the rest of the loop. My wife has commented several times about how…

Four Stars because of the Dog Park

This campground has a dog park and beautiful views, but the sites are very crowded.  There are full hook up sites and electric only.  If you like the party atmosphere, this place is for you.  If you like a more spread out and quiet park, look at Lithia Springs or Opossum.  Your park pass from any…

Best Campground in Lake Shelbeyville

This campground is well spaced and offers both privacy and full hook ups.  In addition there is a marina in walking distance and it is a short drive to the Dam Project Office and Visitor Center.

There are  81 sites in total, 17 tent with electric, 17 full hook up  and the remaining are electric RV sites. There are 6 water hydrants in the park that make it easy for all not water sites to fill up with their hose.  There is a dump station, boat launch and fish cleaning station.   There is one…

Great place to camp.

Very nice place to camp and go boating. Fishing, tubing, skiing, all of it’s great people are very friendly and sites are kept up well. Boat ramps are free as long as you have a campsite.

Great location

Great campground with great hosts. Was able to get a spot a few days ahead of time. Cute camp store with very long pull through parking (no need to unhook). Campfire ring and picnic table. Nice area to walk, medium size lake that fish bight.

Nice lake, quiet campground

Coles Creek Campground on Carlyle Lake has 219 sites, most with full hookups, and shade. (There is 30 & 50 a as no service). Internet is spotty. There are also 2 group campsites with cabins. There are showers, flush toilet, a playground, fish cleaning station, boat ramp and a dump station.…

Good stop over

The campground is fairly small. They appeared to have all gravel sites with minimal grass. There are fire rings by request. The sites are fairly tight. Couldn’t erect our screen house even if we wanted to. The staff was friendly and informative. They guided us to our site which was good, I never…

Great little state park with solid facilities

We only live about an hour north of Fox Ridge, so we made a last minute trip down for an extended weekend when the weather was perfect. :)  It took a bit of maneuvering to get into our site, due to the trees on each side of the site, but once we got in, we were really happy with the space and…

Looking for a respite in the middle of Lincoln country? Fox Ridge State Park Satisfied.

We found out that the back loop was not available due to downed trees, but that didn't diminish the stay for us. (Back loop was no electric and normally first come, first serve.)

We couldn't reserve a site because it was March and because of the time of year, and Covid I suppose, so it was first…
