Great fun for all ages

Spent the weekend here and let's just say it was a blast! Great fishing, nice price for all the amenities. Everything was so much cheaper than those big campgrounds and you get a lot for the price. Friendly atmosphere, peaceful, and very relaxing.

Free river side camping.

Primitive camping on the Mississippi River. This is mostly a wide gravel bar that you can set up camp on with great views of the big river. But there are no amenities, and few sites. The road through the campground is nicely graded and there is obviously some work being done to restore the flora-…

Good place for a layover

It is really close to the highway and you will hear the traffic. We were on the row closest to the highway and they had spots in the back by the woods that were probably better. With that being said... Really nice staff. Very clean grounds and bathrooms/showers.

All pull thru sites!!

Called last minute on a Saturday, I had to leave a message and was hoping someone would call me back! Within five minutes, I had a call back and a lovely pull through site reserved for a one night stay on a Saturday night in May!!! The folks were extremely friendly and the sites are all pull…

It’s the state fairgrounds

Overall a good place to stop for a day or two. One row of full hookups, like a parking lot layout. Not much space between campers however if you don’t need full hookups lots of elec only spots. Two large parking lots for RVs and lots of grass spots. Visited in April, the only crowed area was the…

Good enough for an overnight

No frills camping on the edge of the fairgrounds, there are campsites mostly for RV’s (full hook ups- 50 amp and 30 amp, and sites with sewer), and space for tents on the margins (might be why tent “sites” are free). The bathhouse was locked when I passed through, and no one was camping here, but…

  • The sites are really close, but have the services you want.

Very quiet

This KOA is in a rural area. The signage to get there was very good, plus we had our GPS to help out. This area is QUIET! No trains, no interstate noise. It was great after a long day traveling. Bathrooms/showers are very clean& decorated nicely. Staff was courteous. Our site was fine. This KOA…

Loved camping here

I camped here in a tent before we had an rv. The primitive sites were perfectly quiet and away from others. Toilet was close and so was parking. I kind of miss tent camping!!!

Great 1st campground expereince

I was nervous to camp here due to the bad reveiws about the owner yelling at people and calling the police. We just got a new 40ft 5th wheel and we had never taken our previous camper to a campground. We're pretty much newbies. Check in was ok. They kept radioing the front desk worker changing…

Good St Louis area camping

We spent a couple nights here at an electric site near the playground.  We really enjoyed the hiking and views.  The facilities were fine, consistent with IL state parks. There is a vault toilet by the playground and a shower house on the other side of the campsites.

  • The playground is across the road, towards the left in the backround.

A nice getaway

A friend discovered this gem a while back and we now frequent it. Super inexpensive for the space that you get. Free firewood. We have only stayed at the largest site as it has good fishing and a place for us to launch our paddleboards and kayaks. We easily fit a dozen people over the 4th of July.…

Private house?

Didn't find a campground, only someone's home. I didn't approach to ask, since it looks like a private home. Not sure why this is on the app.

Great Campground!

We have stayed here twice, and will stay again for sure when in the area. Fantastic camp hosts, large pull through spots, pool, mini golf, and more. Very convenient to get too and the check in is very fast.

Great Place

We were coming here to camp with a group of friends. On the way down we had an issue with our camper and had to take it back to the shop. We called and the owner was willing to change our spot to a cabin with no notice. The cabins are nice and comfy and our friends camper spot was nice and…
