Very popular with hunters during the hunting seasons. The mining town site of Gold Creek, within the Island Mountain Mining District, is 5 miles south of Big Bend on county road 745. Very little remains of the town as most of it was moved or torn down in the 1920s. A plaque at the town site contains additional information. In an aspen grove surrounded by wide open country, 15 miles northeast of Wildhorse Reservoir.

Miracle Hot Springs is truly a  Geothermal Oasis in the Desert. Rejuvenate year-round in the continuous flow of natural hot spring water that is soft to the touch and odorless with a sensational alkaline pH of 9.6. Come find out why most people say it is the best hot springs they’ve ever soaked in.

​Banbury Hot Springs is located 1.5 miles east of Miracle on the beautiful Snake River.  It has been providing the healing benefits of the geothermal mineral water to the public since 1920.  The 120 by 60 foot swimming pool and 5 private baths are heated by the artesian mineral water that bubbles from the earth at 138 degrees and is cooled to a very comfortable temperature with cold spring water from the snake river aquifer.

Miracle & Banbury Hot Springs

Pettit Campground and Picnic Area is composed of 8 individual units.The area is suitable for motor homes, trailers and tent camping. This is a fee campground. Fee envelopes and a collection box are provided near the campground entrance. This area is accessible for a season that varies usually between June and September. Campground amenities include toilets. A campground host manages the campground and visits the area weekly. No water is available at this site.

Pettit Campground

10-unit site provides access to fishing and wildlife viewing. Rainbow trout fishery, periodically stocked. There are 10 campsites with tables, fire rings, vault toilets, shade trees. No drinking water.
