Close to the lake and the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene

This is one of the 3 campgrounds within Heyburn State Park. The rangers and staff are amazing. Lots of things to do. Water sports. Hiking. Biking.. This one is not the best and definitely not the worst. Not bid rig friendly. Maybe 30 ft. It is really close to the lake and bike trail. …

Close to the Trail of the Coeur trailhead

If you need a place to start the really beautiful rails to trails without, this might be a inexpensive place and easier to get into that Heyburn.

Family run since the 1960s

This place reminds me of the places my family stayed when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. Very well keeped. River access from the campground to coeur d'Alene lake. Close to the city. Beautiful area. Interstate noise is not too bad. The people are so very kind and you can tell they love…

My happy place

All sited are riverside. It's at the cutest little town. The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene runs right at your back door. Any water sport you can imagine is right there. Perfect sunsets. An out of the way place and definitely worth it.

Only fulltimers. Not for travelors

I would recommend The Dyrt remove this place as it is definitely not for travelers. All permanent residents.

Parking lot near river and bike trail

It is hard to find many positives about this place. It has nothing to do with the people, but only about the "campground". It is a parking lot. No grass. Very tight. Lots of seasonal folks. There is a dog park. It Is right on the river. It is right on the bike trail. It is close to town. …

Tucked in the side of the mountain on the water

Even though the sites are small and close together, they are at different levels as you go up the hill combined with the sites and cabins being tucked under the giant pines, gives you a sense of privacy. It's a really cute campground/resort. They offer tent area, Rv area and log cabins of…

Packing them in like a can of sardines

First, I am very greatful they were able to find a spot for us last minute. Electricity for A/C in the unpressidented heatwave was a relief.

PROS:

  • Full hookups
  • Beautiful beach area on the river.
  • Swimming, Kayaking, SUP, Motorized boating all available just steps away.
  • Showers and…

Great Experience

Friendly staff, free canoes to take out on the lake, clean restrooms and kitchen area, nice relatively private tent camping spot.

Lovely hosts

Small RV park, with a few tent sites. Hosts were lovely people. Large clean bathrooms and showers. Park like environment.

Was warned a Moose family likes to walk through, but didn’t see them.

Another little gem of a campground

A very pleasant small campground. Nicely spaced. Some have great water views. Upper loop is for groups. Most spots by reservations but some first come first served. Great camp host. Swimming docks. Not for big rigs. Fee is $21 and half off senior pass holders.

Great spot to enjoy peace.

It was a fond memory as a child. Going to the water pump and enjoying natural mineral water. It's nestled a little ways back so it can be missed easily if you are not paying attention but well worth the trip.

Entertaining and educational spot

This little camping spot off of interstate 90 is perfect for all ages. A couple of dozen small pull in, and pull- through, sites that have full hookups and tire rim fire pits. A bit of shade and a bit of noise from the interstate.

But…. there 40 minutes tour of the mine is awesome!! And, it comes…

Great Location, Family Friendly

We were lucky enough to land the island campground which made the whole experience amazing! This place has great amenities (free canoes, hot showers, flush toilets, free firewood) which made it the nicest campground I had been to for awhile. Like I mentioned before, we got the island spot which was…
