One of the least populated states in America, Idaho is the third state that makes up the Pacific Northwest—besides Oregon and Washington.      Cub River Lodge is a beautiful, spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom vacation rental cabin. This comfortable Lodge has 6,700 square feet of living space and can sleep a min. of 63 people. It has a large kitchen/prep area with 3 separate stoves/ovens, a stainless steel island, 2 full size refrigerators and all the necessary cooking& eating utensils. The main focal point of this Lodge is the large “conference center” with hardwood floors,(look like a dance floor, with ability to seat over 150), complete with surround sound and audio/visual capabilities. The adjoining theatre room has a big-screen TV, Clavinova piano, foosball table, with plenty of comfortable chairs and couches. The front entry of the Lodge sports another very large sitting area where guests can gather to converse and relax from the laughter& chatter in other rooms. A small dining room attached to the kitchen will accommodate up to 30 guests, with overflow into the conference center. 

     Open year-round, one can come relax, renting a room or the whole lodge. Cub River Lodge is perfect for groups of all sizes and ages, be it family reunions, youth retreats, scrap bookers, quilters, dancers or business seminars, you name it! Many have also enjoyed our facilities for indoor/outdoor weddings and as a great sweetheart get-away!  

     Cub River RV Park offers(11) full hook-up RV Sites (30 or 50 amp), and lots of dry camping area for RVs, "hip camping", tenting, etc. We can handle large family or group gatherings if booking early.      Outdoor activities include volleyball, tetherball,(a must for Napoleon Dynamite Country!), a horseshoe pit and water play. Nearby lakes and reservoirs provide hours of entertainment, fishing, boating, jet-skiing, and tubing. Tubing down the "Oneida Narrows" has been a highlight of many groups. And one must not forget to mention that for the adventurous type, hunkering for some off-road escapades, there are miles of groomed ATV, biking, hiking, horse, snowshoe& snowmobile trails within 1/4 mile of Cub River Lodge& RV Park in one of the most amazing "outdoor playgrounds", the Cache National Forest. Guests can bring their "toys" along with them, riding right from the RV Park!  Wintertime sports include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, in the National Forest, or tubing and snow skiing at nearby Cherry Peak or Beaver Mountain Resorts.

These campsites are at the mouth of Cub River Canyon. The views are expansive and beautiful. National forest is only a few minute drive away along with a handful of reservoirs and river access. Come enjoy the views.

These are primitive campsites with no potable water.

We also offer a Glamping Tent, with your choice of beds!



Mountain Top Getaways

The campsites are located in a wooded area so lots of shade. Site 1,2 and 4 are creek side along maple creek and site 3 has a small stream and a pond. All sites have a fire pit available. All sites are carry in carry out. Easily accessible with a four wheel drive. You will need to cross maple creek to reach site 1. Site 1 also has outdoor carpet and patio furniture the site. The road down to the river bottoms is a bit steep so 4 wheel drive is recommended. This area is ideal for tent camping. Some sites have tables.



This area was used by the local Indian tribes during the summer. We have found many flint arrowheads and a bread stone on the property. There is a cave on little mountain to the west that they wintered in and it is a short hike to go see it.

There is a 6 mile round trip hike to the head of maple creek. Trail head at the top of maple creek road. If you have atv’s there are trails for that also.

St. Charles Campground is situated on its namesake creek in the scenic St. Charles Canyon, approximately 8 miles from Bear Lake State Park and North Beach.

## Recreation

Nearby, the North Fork Trail and its associated trails access the Highline Trail #316. The Highline Trail is part of the National Trail System and is the area's premier trail. It stretches 55 miles along the backbone of the Wasatch Mountains and is open to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and motorcyclists, attracting trail users from around the world.  
  
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game manages the river fisheries, providing good to excellent fishing most of the year, including in St. Charles Creek. In-season big game hunting is also a popular activity.

## Facilities

The campground offers one group site that can accommodate up to 20 people. Six single sites are also available. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. A paved road leads to the campground.

## Natural Features

Stands of aspens provide partial shade, while lodgepole pines, willow, dogwoods, Engelmann spruce and wild roses dot the landscape. The varied vegetation provides plenty of privacy from site to site. 

## Nearby Attractions

Minnetonka Cave, one of only two developed caves in the Forest Service, is a few miles from the campground. Guided cave tours are scheduled every 30 minutes daily from early June until Labor Day.  
  
The Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge is just north of Bear Lake, offering excellent bird watching.  
  
Bear Lake's Raspberry Days Festival occurs the first weekend in August every year, with a parade, fireworks, craft booths and a rodeo.

St. Charles Campground

## Overview

Paris Springs Campground is situated in scenic Paris Canyon, about five miles from Paris, Idaho. It is about 20 miles from Bear Lake, at an elevation of 6,600 feet. The campground gives Bear Lake visitors the opportunity to camp in a quiet area with lush vegetation.

## Recreation

Paris Creek runs alongside the campground, after bubbling up from Paris Spring, which can be accessed from a 300-yard trail within the site. Campers enjoy hiking and fishing along the creek.

## Facilities

The campground contains three group sites and nine single-family campsites. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided, but there is no electricity. Roads and parking spurs within the campground are dirt.

## Natural Features

A mixed conifer and aspen forest covers the campground and much of Paris Canyon. Plentiful shade can be found throughout most of the campground. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape. 

## Nearby Attractions

The Highline Trail, part of the National Trail System, can be accessed nearby. It is the premier trail of the Montpelier Ranger District, stretching 55 miles along the backbone of the Bear River Range. The trail is enjoyed by hikers, horseback riders, mountain bikers, motorcyclists and off-road vehicle enthusiasts from around the world.   
  
Paris Ice Cave is also not far from the campground. Self-guided tours of the cave offer a look into an unusual cavern filled with ice year-round. The cave is not developed but a footpath leads through it.   
  
Beautiful Bear Lake State Park is about 20 miles away, with boating, water skiing, fishing and swimming. Bear Lake's Raspberry Days festival occurs annually the first weekend in August, with a parade, fireworks, craft booths and a rodeo.

BEAR LAKE STATE PARK – EASTSIDE – On the east side of Bear Lake.  Accessed via Cisco Road – Includes the areas known as FIRST POINT, SOUTH EDEN, CISCO BEACH, RAINBOW COVE, AND NORTH EDEN. Distances vary from four miles to 13 miles north on Cisco Road from Laketown and the Cisco Road and SR 30 Junction.  First Point, Cisco Beach, and Rainbow Cove are open year round. 

Bear Lake was formed 28,000 years ago by earthquake activity. At an elevation of 5,923 feet, Bear Lake is 20 miles long and eight miles wide, 208 feet deep, and covers 112 square miles.

Originally Bear Lake was called Black Bear Lake by Donald Mackenzie, explorer for the North West Fur Company who discovered it in 1819 while scouting for fur-bearing animals. The name was later changed to Bear Lake. Two Mountain Man Rendezvous were held in the area in the mid 1820's.

WHY IS IT SO BLUE? Its beautiful and unique green-blue color is the result of calcium carbonates suspended in the lake.
