We hightailed it to the area early on a Thursday morning pior to the 4th of July weekend in hopes of finding a spot. We were greeted by the nicest host ever. He apparently loved what he was doing and just wanted to help. He told us to ride through, check out the sights that were open and if we…

We stayed at Silver Creek West when we were unable to get a campsite at Craters of the Moon. Silver Creek is a disperse camping area as no established sites are in the area, but their are several rock fire rings in the area. The site does have a vault toiler. Camping is free. Plenty of flat…

I was attending a local wilderness first aid course and was able to have the privilege of staying at Smoky Bear. I was lucky that is was early in the season and was able to drive in and find a great site for my RV.
The sites were clean and well dispersed...there are a number of pit toilets…

This is not a fancy campground but a solid place to set up a fish camp next to Silver Creek. The entire area was clean and the placement of the campers that were already there were fairly dispersed. There is a single pit toilet available but really no other amenities.

Nice campground. $12 night. Agree that sites 7,8,9 and 10 are the best. Closes September 15 for the season
This campground is located just north of Catchem Idaho just off the highway. 27 sites. Very clean and well-maintained pick toilets. Larger rigs can also stay at this campsite. Highly recommend.
Such an awesome little campsite. The owners are very attentive and nice. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room are pristine for a campground! Hot water was no issue and they have a great little store if you’re out of anything. 10/10
So many areas to pull in and camp on river …
Great campground with water and very clean bathrooms. Right in very sweet creek.
On salmon river right off hwy. can’t complain it was free
Beautiful area right off of Highway 75 on the river
Incredibly beautiful tent only camping sites. Wife and I did lots of swimming and hiking here. Hiked up to the bench lakes about an 8 mile round trip.

Redfish lake was all reserved, so we ended up camping across the highway here. Great campground with the Salmon River running along right next to the site. Little trails leading down to river. Sites were spacious and had picnic tables and fire pits (no fires allowed when we visited).

I would say that Alturas lake gives redfish a run for its money. The lake is approximately 30 minutes from Stanley. My wife and I stayed for 2 days and was not crowded. There are still boats on the lake but significantly less than Redfish. Its perfect for the paddle boarder, kayaker, or fisherman.…
Come prepared for cold nights even in the summer. Water will be just as cold unless its August but it's refreshing and extremely clear. Clean campground with fire ring. Camp hosts were very nice.
