GuideLots of open space makes this a great spot to put up for the night. Parking lot is level. Pit toilets were clean and stocked with the most rolls of toilet paper I’ve ever seen in a pit toilet! Being right next to I-70, it is not a peaceful spot, but we weren’t bothered in our closed van. When we woke up at 6:30 am on a Saturday, many hikers had already arrived for the day.

We snagged a really large spot pretty far up the road and right off the creek. A couple of people drove by but quite otherwise. Lot of sites to park and then walk into a tent site. Would be a great area if you had a group you were camping with! We have a RTT so had to be a bit more selective—it would be even harder with any sort of camper.

TravelerWe drove our 38 ft class a motorhome a good ways to find our spot. It was perfect. Yes there was some ORV traffic but after 7pm it was quiet. Overlooking Grand lake and the mountains was wonderful. Road was a little rough in spots but fine going slow.

You must have an suv car or 4x4, my forester made it great. The path is EXTREMELY rocky, we were going 2mph(literally). There are some spots around the reservoir and some more on the side of the road on the way there.
