Awesome campground!

Beautiful white sandy lake beach. Nice playground, clean bathrooms, washers and dryers, camp store. Ice and firewood available 24-7. Loved our camp site. We chose one not right on the lake because of our 1 yr old explorer but we could still see the lake. Bring an air mattress if in a tent because…

  • didn't take one without us in it at the campsite but here is the beautiful beach.

Fun 4 days

Our visit to Piney campground was good. Nice level spot with power. Nice playground. Bath house was cleaned every day. Large dumpsters for trash but no recycling nearby. Boat ramp was good plenty of shore to beach your boat. Some sites well shaded, some not.

  • our site backed up to the playground
  • swimming area

Beautiful property

This is a really nice resort with beautiful facilities and helpful staff. Tons and tons of recreation amenities including bocci and pickle ball(!), and even live music a few nights a week.

During our stay there were some water issues with the bathrooms/showers. We ran out of hot water even…

Hidden Gem

This campground is a hidden gem!  Stayed at Site 25 and had a great view all weekend.

Pros:

There are only 15 sites so it's small but not crowded.

Several sites have 50A service, the rest have 30A and all have water.

Several sites are on the water and the rest are near it.  Great for…

Cozy KOA with tons of amenities!

This KOA is in a really convenient location near downtown Nashville! They have tons of amenities (shower, hot tub, pool, etc) so it’s not exactly backcountry camping if that’s more your thing. But they have a shuttle for $10 that runs round trip every hour to downtown Nashville, which is a must…

Clean campground at a waterpark

I actually had a really good stay here, but I will say that the water park was closed and it wasn’t peak season. They do keep the campground up and it is very friendly service. I like that they had cable and a full hook up and the showers and bathrooms were nice

Amazing primitive sites!

We love the primitive sites at Nathan Bedford Forest! Each site is along the River banks, so you get the best views! Fire pits and picnic tables included. The bathhouse is very old though and does not have a shower. That is the only reason I couldn’t give this one 5 stars!

Packed in like sardines

We like state parks because they offer lots to do and sites are usually a little spread out. That is not the case there! These sites are packed in like sardines!! We were lucky to have a site that backed up to the creek, so that made the stay a little more enjoyable. We are at the lodge for dinner…

Wish it had more for kids

The sites were very close to each other, but it was fairly quiet. It is close to a train track that has a train that runs about every hour. The music was great and the service was friendly. However, they show a playset on their map and it was two regular swings and a baby swing. This was…

On the lake

Stayed in lot 18. Shade was great. Lake is beautiful spots are gravel pads with fire ring. On vault toilet, good but not totally maintained. Busy on weekends. Some lots traffic due to boat ramp. Far corner fairly good

Quiet peaceful campground

We thought the traffic noise would be bad being so close to I40 but we didn’t even hear it. We had a tent site with water and power. The hosts were awesome, sold us firewood and ice for fair prices. Made sure we were good to go. Ended up staying longer than we originally planned. Bathroom/showers…
