Accessible via paved roads along the historic Natchez Trace Parkway, this National Park Service campground provides 31 primitive sites at no cost to visitors. The first-come, first-served facility features paved camping spots, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Pull-through sites accommodate larger RVs, while the paved surfaces throughout the campground make bicycle riding easy for families.
Water spigots are distributed periodically across the grounds, though sites lack electrical hookups. Clean restroom facilities serve campers, but showers are not available. Generator use is permitted from 6 AM to 10 PM for those needing power. The campground sits in a low-lying area surrounded by mature trees that provide natural shade, though satellite internet still functions well from most sites.
Saddie R. notes that "all roads and campsites are paved so the kids all road bikes easily." Campers should exercise caution during wet weather, as the terrain can become challenging. The area experiences occasional tree falls, though the campground itself remains relatively protected. Sites are positioned closer together than some prefer, making this location work well as an overnight stop for travelers exploring camping near Natchez Trace Parkway rather than an extended stay destination.
