We stayed at Big Pine Campground during our trip to the Black Hills, and honestly, it was perfect. Tucked away just outside Custer, it’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by tall pines that make you feel like you’re really away from it all. But at the same time, it had everything we needed—clean bathrooms, hot showers, full hookups, and even fire rings for those late-night marshmallow moments. The hosts were genuinely some of the kindest people we’ve met—super friendly and always ready to help. It didn’t feel like just another campground; it felt like we were staying with old friends. Best part? It’s super close to all the big sights—Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Jewel Cave. We even had a deer stroll right by our site one morning. Whether you're in a tent or an RV, or even just want a cozy cabin, this place really has something for everyone. Can’t wait to come back.
