Nice Nice view but that’s where it ends

Nice view but that’s where it ends. The owner was terrible. They don’t hardly ever answer there phone and they don’t take messages. The sights are small and very Unlevel, a picnic table could not be used and was in poor shape. The grass area was completely full of weeds and dandelions but they go crazy if you had a tire on it. The whole Campgrounds what is in poor condition and the pool was dry no maintenance anywhere. We would never stay there again.

Great Campground!!

I booked this campground a few weeks before we went. I’m glad I did because they seem to be full during the summer. They are really close to town, so it’s really convenient. We have a larger side by side, so when I called they made sure that we would have a spot to fit that too. We had a great site close to the pool. The pool was clean and not busy. Our kids wanted to spend all day everyday there😊

If I could it would get zero stars...

First off allow me to set the scene. We came into town for the rodeo so we knew it would be busy and lodging would be sparse. We liked this option for its location to downtown deadwood and the trolley. We opted for the camping cabin as we knew it would be warm. Upon arrival I received the key (this is where I should have known cleanliness was out of the questions) the key chain was SO gross! We opened the door to the cabin and bugs were everywhere! The window sills looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in years. There is a small bathroom with a toilet in a building down by the cabins that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. We are in a post pandemic times and this is totally unacceptable. After addressing it with the front desk they shrugged and said “sorry, no refunds” we were booked for two nights. I would have been totally understanding if only one night had been refunded but their inability to recognize their wrong doing....sickening. When your livelihood is the patrons of your establishment visiting and enjoying their stay and safely at that....you meet your customer in the middle with a solution. Gross gross gross....stay as far away as possible.

Tight sites but great location

We stay in site # 220 with Full hook up. We backed up to a mountain not a bad view.  Would have liked to have been a little closer to the pool and where the trolley picks up it was a walk from our site. The pool which was clean & refreshing and quiet.

You can trolley from the campground into town Deadwood it's $1.00 each way. Some trolley drivers are so funny they seem to have a good time. It's fun to see the shoot out in the street with Wild Bill Hickok & Calamity Jane. The cemetery where they are buried is a 5 minute drive or trolley from the campground.

They do have some ATV people camp there they go up the mountain & run around but it wasn't loud.

Sturgis is close, nice little drive. Fun place we didn't go when the big bike event.

Deadwood is a cool town love to eat at Saloon 10 a great Ribeye steak, doesn't hurt to make a reservation it can be very busy. Good burgers too.  Deadwood Dick's is a bar/ Antique store we cruised through that Love his logo.

Not great for tents

Maybe if your in an RV it’s better? Tent sites are all the way at the top of the hill. Not even in walking distance to bathrooms, showers or the pool. We felt remote up there, which I suppose isn’t a bad thing. Very uneven grassy spaces. They did have shuttle to town. Convenient to town deadwood and lead and to attractions.

Lousy Service

Before leaving Devil's Tower we called and after several tries got someone who said they still had a few sites open for the off season. But she was very busy and about half an hour later returned the call but I was unavailable. In spite if an immediate call back no one answered, nor did they for the next 2 hours in spite of calling numerous times. When we got there, the office was open but no one around. Calling got me to their reservation service which tried several calls to them and could not reach anyone. Driving through the campground to turn around not sure I would want to stay. Tiny sites no shade. Convenient is about all it seems to offer.

nice but needs work

we made reservations 6months in advance for a long level site. not many level sites here and the site we were told to go to was not long enough for our camper let alone the tow vehicle. they were accommodating and let us pick a different site. pool was being worked on so not open. 1 shower quite a distance and missing shower curtain hooks.
