Quiet, off the beaten path

Very cute place, has spots for tents and just rv or car camping. Everyone is respectful of others out there and there is one vault toliet that is pretty clean. Would visit again if i were passing through!

Great, clean, Carlsbad Caverns

Great small (free) campground very close to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Surprised at how well-kept it was and the restroom is very clean. There are about 5/6 RV/campervan spots and equal tent spots, each with a picnic table under a canopy, a BBQ and fire ring. There were 3 cars parked at the…

There are not enough stars to rate

Absolutely amazing. This lake is perfect. For walking across or driving any Ford Ranger across. Plenty of trails and dry weeds to burn. From time to time you might even see a few hookers. Top notch and ready for all ford rangers.

Pass thru. But visit Carlsbad caverns

Not the best rv spot or town . Kind of a one nighter place while you visit the Carlsbad caverns. Sprayed the grass with some lethal green chemical. 🤢

Nice place close to Carlsbad

The lake is nice especially if you like to look at water fowl. The gravel roads that lead east to the lake are rough and could probably use a 4x4 to navigate. It is free camping and there are no hook up for RV camping. There are a few areas that kinda look like kids may have had a party and didn’t…

Super Quite/ Amazing Stars

Just stayed at Brantley Lake state park and loved it. With my NM state park pass my stay was only $4 per night with 30amp and water. This site is about 4 miles off the highway which makes it super quite. Dump station available, two dumpsters in the loop. Great cell service (Verizon) also got like…

A fairly secluded and windy desert campground

We stayed here for 4 nights in late November/early December. It is a bit of a drive to get out to the campground from the highway, as you have to circle around the dam the get to the campground. The campground loops are situated up on a hill overlooking the countryside. There is a nice playground…

  • Hanging around at the lake.
  • Video of wind.

Great Spot

Good spot. Nice and flat and very spacious. Not much around. Not really any trees either. We went in November so it was veryyy cold.
