Beautiful Stream Camping

There are some fantastic trails to hike here, some great scenery, and good trout fishing from the stream.

You're able to camp as close to the stream as you're comfortable with, and there is nothing quite like waking up and enjoying a cup of fresh coffee while admiring the visual and auditory beauty of the rushing water.

Clean and quite

We like this spot The people were awesome we had so much fun. Not the best fishing but the weather was amazing. The site pad were laid out well. We had a picnic table. And a fire pit.

Easy access friendly owner

Small, clean, no frills. Across the street from a spectacular city playground/ swimming pool. Owner very friendly and accommodating. Credit cards not accepted, cash and check allowed

Had what I was looking for

Needed a camping spot for some hunting I was doing in the area. This worked great. Had good spots for pitching a tent and had fire rings for a camp fire. Vault toilets were located in the camping area as well.

Fairly good and not busy

We arrived and only one other person was there. There was no host or staff there. There were signs saying you must get approved firewood but no one was there to get the firewood which was frustrating. Clean bathrooms and showers, water provided so it worked out good anyways.

Quiet and Easy

Making the trek back East, i needed a place to crash for the night. Quiet campground and a beautiful view off the lake. You have to pay for showers. 1.25 for 6 minutes got the job done. Chopped wood for sale at the nearest gas station.

Hidden gem

A wooded campground, about .25 mile walk/drive to the river. Clean bathrooms and vault toilets. Nice shoreline to stroll along with dogs. Saw mountain lion tracks along shore…

One of my favorite places

One of the favorite places to go to get away from everybody it's never too busy

Clean, peaceful, pretty

Spent a night here by the water and experienced a beautiful sunset. Its a perfect place to camp for a night or kayak for an afternoon. Got lucky enough to have the entire place to myself. Really relaxed place. Perfect for tent camping and a water view.

Look for it

Pease Creek Recreation Area is off the Missouri River out in the middle of nowhere but if you are a water/fishing person it is worth the drive for a quiet, laid back vacation.

South Dakota has some long straight roads and the GPS worked most of the time as well as cell phone signal. It would on occasion drop off so make sure you have your trusty map. The signage in was good and don’t be surprised when you hit gravel roads, just slow down ;)

The campground was pretty quiet and mostly deserted when we overnighted. It was dark, quiet and plenty of sites to choose from. Basic hook up, plenty of space to set up in, more of an RV geared campground. The area was well maintained but facilities could use an update/good cleaning.

Right outside the area is a privately owned campground that looked like it was expanding so that will add to the boatramp traffic and noise. It was more of a permanent RV area but may have short term rentals.

There was hiking to be had and horses were allowed but it’s definitely a water recreation area. Due to the weather , 40’s when we visited and raining we did not get to enjoy the water like I had wanted. Town is not nearby so fuel up and stock up before driving out!
