If you’re stopping for a night…

She’s not pretty, wooded, or even that quiet. But, she’s convenient! We needed an overnight spot with full hookups on a drive across country. This fit the bill. It does have a small off-leash area for dogs, but be careful with the little pups, they could easily slip out under the gates or any number of places along the fence. It made is very nervous since this place is REALLY close to I-80 and 180. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked nice enough. It had a hot tub too, but it was literally 102 degrees when we pulled in. No hot tub for us. It feels like this might be a spot where Husker fans camp on home game weekends. For us it was just a stop.

Location is an Issue

My review is biased since I did not bring kids to enjoy the family amenities, I was only stopping in for an evening because I was traveling across country and looking for a place to sleep. I for the life of me cannot understand why anyone would want to camp at a location that is right smack in the middle of two interstate highways that echoes the sound of semi trucks down shifting and motorcycles laying on the throttle. There is no peace here unless your plan is to hide in your tin can.

With that being said, there was a lot for the kids to do: swimming, bouncing, arcade, etc. and the staff was very accommodating. I imagine they would need to be to offset location. I personally would not go back, but understand that my style is more woods, birds, rivers, serenity mixed with convenience.

A great family park

So much for the kids to do. A fun pass is require and costa about $10 but kids get ice cream, Slushies, water balloons for water wars included with that plus access to trampoline basketball, a nice jump pad, pool, indoor hot tub, times water slide and timed barrel train ride. There’s basketball, fields to play in and gem mining for a fee. We splurged for their fanciest patio site and had a huge site. New patio furniture, a swing, camp fire, charcoal grill and full hook ups for less than $80 for the night.

Down sides - grass is dry - it’s summer - I’d rather everyone conserve on water than water the grass anyway so not such a down side - just noted. By a busy road and what looks like a highway support facility - but it’s super easy to get to and right off the highway… so it’s a plus and an obvious road noise kind of situation. We sleep thru everything so didn’t mind at all - just don’t expect it to be out in the middle of a field. Super close to Lincoln! We could see the city from the exit.

Disappointing stay

Very disappointing sites and stay. Paid a premium for a pull thru site with a patio. Site B11 was not level towards the front of the site leaving us to unhook our tow car and pull it in the front. Since the sites are so close together someone arrived late at night parking directly behind us not allowing us to connect our car in the morning. Oh yea site B11 faces equipment used by the Nebraska DPW - lovely yellow dump trucks greeted us for $97.00 a night. Big rigs stay somewhere else this place is not worth the $ or aggravation. The entrance and exit are the same road narrow and difficult to navigate.

Nice place with one flaw

This is our first camping trip in a tent. We love the energy here. You can tell the owners keep everything impeccable. The bathrooms were super clean and have locks with code to keep them safe. The shower head could use replacing, but it was a hot shower, so we appreciate it. This place has tons for kids to do. There is a hand-built playground, basketball court, slip n slide, dog park, bounce stuff for kids. We booked hoping we could use the spa, only to find out when we got here, no kids under 5 can use it. We have a 3 year old, so we had to pass. The trees are really pretty and their are cute squirrels running around. Its pretty quiet at night from other campers HOWEVER the highway is so close you can see the cars going by. Its extremely loud and constant highway sounds. If you are in a camper or RV, it probably doesn't make much difference, but in a tent, it took away a bit of the magic of camping for us. Obviously this is nothing the owners can change.

All in all 4 out of 5 because it was a beautiful and well kept campground.

Looks like fun for family

We spent one night here and it was nice. It was out first night camping in a 31’ with 3 slide outs and it was a great experience. Easy set up although only used power, nice level site with pull through. Busy but we had a pretty roomy spot. Bathrooms were clean, staff friendly. Cute little train rides for kids at night and vehicles to rent

Nice spot in the heartland

This was a great rv park. Yes next to the interstate was a bit noisy but it’s easily tuned out. We stayed late in the season so not much was going on in the park, lots of campers but most stayed inside??? Lots of stuff for the kids to do, for an additional charge. Would stay again.

Great one night traveling campground

Very clean. Helpful friendly staff. Huge, clean dog run shaded with locust trees. Best dog run we have seen this trip. Located 3 miles fromHistoric Haymarket in Lincolon. Clean laundry facilities. They also have large washer and dryer if you need to do bed covers. Camp store is pretty well stocked with food and camp gear. Looked like they had frozen pizza that they wood cook for you( didn't try it). Highly recommend if you need an overnight site with laundry and short drive for a few beers and good meal downtown. A little pricey but worth it. Stayed in pull thru site.

Phenomenal

Had a really awesome stay here. There are lots of trees around, tons of room and the park is beautiful. There are a ton of things for kids to do here, I do think that the four wheeler ride for the kids goes a little too fast for small children. The pool is nice, however, it is not heated but felt nice due to the high humidity and heat. We pull a 37 1/2 foot travel trailer and there was still loads of room in the pull-through spot. Would stay here again hands-down.

Great Location... Very Crowded!

This was a great location to explore different areas but it is a very crowded location. Some people like that and visiting with everyone.  That is not for me.  The campground is well maintained, the staff is friendly and our dogs enjoyed the dog park on the property.

Great campground with tons of activities

This is a pretty nice campground. Plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy. Not too cramped. Lots of shade at certain sites.

Main office has supplies, food, ice, and ice cream.

Activities include a pool, water balloons, water slide, playground, three wheel and four wheel bike rentals, and rock mining.

The only reason I gave this campground four stars instead of five stars was due to the attitude of the guy who escorted us to our site. Upon arrival at our site he was very rude and impatient. He wasn’t very helpful with guiding me into our site and was barking orders at me the whole time. He gave up and told my wife that she would have to deal with me. This all transpired after only being a minute at the site. Mind you this was my third time backing up a camper. I did fine after he left.

Glamping in Nebraska

Being more of a boondocker, and someone easily turned off by state park campgrounds because they are so crowded, I did not see the draw to this campground.  Yet peope camp here year round.

I went there to do a review, and I was nnot only impressed, I was a bit envious of the campers that were there!  Not only the clean flush toilets and showers that were expected.  Not only the pool and hot tub that I had heard about.  But games, and activities, and rides, and disc golf, and so much more.  This camp ground is almost a resort!

Pleasantly Surprised

I give 5 stars because of purpose. I rate based off of what I’m looking for and if it fits my needs. I try not to compare the likes of city campgrounds to those in the mountains (apples and oranges) I also wasn’t sure what to expect but was very happy with this campground. Had originally planned on tripping to Omaha more than one day but only ended up only going once to hit the Henry Doorley Zoo because we had enough to occupy us at the campground. Very kid friendly with great staff. sites were fairly close together but have been at worse. Pro & Con - right next to the interstate. Since we were site seeing around the area it was convenient instead the more nature excursion camping trip. But the traffic noise is not the most desirable. Would be a great place to stay if you’re going to go to a corn huskers game-short drive to the stadium. We actually went to a minor league ball game; Lincoln Salt Dogs, was a good time and also great time for the kids! If we ever venture that direction again I will gladly stay here again.

Nice campground and Very kid friendly

This is a very nice campground right off I-80 at the Lincoln downtown exit. My son and I stayed here for a week until he could move into his apartment. It was very clean and well kept. We had full hook-ups and cell service and wifi. They have a large off leash dog run which was so nice. There were so many things for younger kids to do. I wish I would have known about this place when mine were younger. We travel a lot and I have to say for a private campground this is a nice one. As for the price, for a family with kids they have lots of activities. Wish we would have gotten a deluxe patio site-maybe next time.
