Small and Peaceful

We visit this camp ground multiple times a year. It is a donation camp ground with electric hookup (30 & 50 amp). The city park is a quick walk. Wonderful little site, be aware there is train tracks that run next to the park. While there are not a lot of trains that go through you will hear a loud train once in a while.

Great Little Campground!

We made a pit stop here on the way North and were impressed with this hidden gem. There's about a dozen RV spots with electric hookups, a public bathroom, picnic areas, folfing, and several playground areas. You pay what you can for a donation, with a four night limit.

Make the trip you might be surprised

This is another NRD lake, and pretty well maintained. However unlike Wanhoo you don't need a pass or permit. Also the tent camping is free, and electrical is 18. From what I heard the fishing is good and the lake itself is beautiful. Not to mention there is the little town of Prague and the lake itself is in the Bohemian alps of Nebraska. It is also quiet and peaceful. The few down falls I can see is the lake is not simply accessible from the rvs. Also the trees in the tent area, that are close to the lake, and could cause issues with mosquitoes. So if your looking for something different, but not a ling drive from Omaha or Lincoln area, I would tell you to give it a try.

Will get better with age

This lake is a Nrd controlled lake that is relatively new, and requires a daily pass or annual pass. I believe it opened 2012. This lake sits just out side of the Northside of Wahoo, and sits off a relatively busy highway. So as you would expect there is some traffic noise. Also with the age of this lake there is no mature trees around the lake. So as you would expect it will make tent camping difficult for some on hot days. There is tent camping, and rvs, as well as a couple little cabins for rent. The fishing is pretty darn good on this lake. There are several online articles that will back that claim up, as well as myself. This is also a good kayaking lake. There is also a trail, or path that goes around this lake for biking, jogging, or just simply walking. The whole area and restrooms are clean, and well maintained. I thing it's a beautiful clean lake that the city of Wahoo should be proud to be next to. I believe this lake will get better with age.

Perfect!

Wonderful location right by a creek, huge park with playground equipment, big swimming pool and golf course. Full hookups (electric, water, sewer) for only $10 per night! Cute town with all the amenities!

Great, but

Let me start with the positives. First if you like fishing and doing your own activities. This is the place for you. We stayed at lake 2, and the campsites are spaced apart well, and all our neighbors were great. We were able to fish, and Kayak in this lake. And the newer part where the beaches are not far. Now if you like being in the middle of nowhere and the quiet. This might not be the place for you. You can here the highway traffic all night, as well as the train going by. Also some of the roads are closed off due roads destruction from the 2019 floods. This made access around to be limited. The lock was broken on the bathroom closest to us, but it was a outhouse anyway.

Great little campground

Clean but rustic. Has 3 sites with water and 30a hookups. Dump station. Clean bathroom with shower. Price is right! $10/night.

A Parking Lot with All the Comforts, Great Golfing, and Free

We went to Fremont for John C Fremont days and the camping was all taken.  We heard Hooper had camping and went there for a couple nights stay.

There is a City Park with a pool and ball-field and they let you park your camper just about wherever you can.  If you park by the picnic shelter you can plug in and they don't care.  The pool lets you shower for free and there are flush toilets available throughout the night.  The Golf course had a tournament that was very well attended so I assume the golfing is good.

There was no charge for camping.

Cute shops, fireworks, and woodfired Pizza & FREE CAMPING W/ HOOKUPS!

No kidding, FREE CAMPING with HOOKUPS! Flush Toilet and the pool is a short walk away and I was told you could use the showers for free! (the pool looked inviting also)

Stromsburg has a Swedish festival (Cancelled this year-COVID) but also has this great First Friday thing with live music in the square, fireworks off the roof, fire baked Pizza and other very cool concessions, wine tasting, and more.

This is a way cool local thing, so the First Friday does not over crowd the camping area.
