      Lake Ozarks RV Resort

Clean campground, close to many attractions

This campground is clean, and is close to many attractions near the Lake of the Ozarks.

Wifi is spotty, but my site was at the back of the campground. The campsite also has a new in ground pool and dog park.

Reason I gave this campsite 3 stars is because it is clearly still under construction (6/30/23), which I was not aware of. My guess is this was the first season it was open. Half of the park still had conex boxes and construction equipment around. The dog park had little grass and was very rocky.

The owners were VERY nice and accommodating.

If I were to return next year in 2024 I have no doubt I would have given this campsite 4 or 5 stars

Doolittle Acres RV Park and Campground

      Great Route 66 stop

The camp area looks new, cute playground, small fenced dog park type area, showers, laundry, fire pits and picnic tables. Very little trees or grass. Would love it if they played up the Route 66 theme they have going. Very convenient for our fishing trip!

Doolittle Acres RV Park and Campground

      Nice area

Good area only a mile off the highway so it made a great night stopping point. Had great access for our starlink. They have a little dog park, kids park, and it was all clean and well maintained. Easy access and some nice pull through spots. Water, sewer, and electric hook ups. Fire pit and picnic table at site. Since it’s close the highway it was a little loud with traffic. 57$ a night for premium spots, 42$ a night for non premium

      Linn Creek Koa

      Great for just popping through.

Great place for a place to stay near the lake of the ozarks attractions. Super close to big surf and not a bad drive from all the lake has to offer. But not a favorite for a trip focused more on hanging out at the camp site. Very hilly (though grade on the site wasn’t bad at all), pull through sites make getting in easy with larger rigs but all roads through are gravel and rutted so not the easiest. Sites close together without much in between. Nice large trees would offer some summer shade but still not much separation between sites. Water and electric at site. Small “dog park” (fenced in area) great for smaller dogs to run off leash and pretty large kid okay ground too. Overall we will stay here again but think of it more as bringing our own hotel to the lake rather than coming to enjoy the campground.

      Turkey Creek RV Park

      Nice Campground! Nice and Quiet!

Turkey Creek was a very nice campground for our month long stay.  The park is well maintained and clean.  It is very quiet!  There is a train track nearby, but we only heard it a few times during our stay.

Amenities included full hook up, laundry room, bathrooms, showers and a fenced dog park where you 4 legged friends can enjoy some off-leash time.  We had 4 bars with AT&T and waffled between 1-3 bars with Verizon.

The location is great for visiting local attractions such as Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City and Top of the Rock.

Really appreciate the park manager, she was friendly and brought an overpayment to our attention and quickly issued a refund.

      Great experience overall!

      Dry Fork Recreation Area

      Dry Fork Campground

The Pine Ridge Campground a few miles down the road was full, so we ended up at 1 of the 8 sites here. This is an equestrian campground that allows non-horse campers, but prefers you check Pine Ridge first. We had a fine one-night stay while traveling through, but encountered A LOT of ticks on the overgrown trail. BEWARE of ticks and check yourselves and your pets if staying here. No cell service.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Lake of the Ozarks State Park campground Spring 2022

Lake of the Ozarks State Park campground is located in Kaiser Missouri about 5 miles down highway 134 off of highway 42. This campground is about 1.5 hour from Columbia and Springfield Missouri. It is approximately 3 hours from St.Louis and Kansas City Missouri .

Lake of the Ozarks State Park includes two different areas which are both located on Lake of the Ozarks.

The one reviewed here is located in Kaiser and includes Public Beach #1 , a marina/gas dock , horse stables/trails, hiking trails, beach, fishing dock, shore fishing and campground.

The other is located in Osage Beach about 20 minutes away and includes Public Beach #2, grand glaze marina/gas dock, shore fishing and hiking trails. No camping is available at the Osage Beach location aka PB 2 or grand glaze.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground is a wonderful place to set up camp for the weekend and is one of my all time favorites. The State Park is clean and well maintained with plenty to do for everyone.

The camp sites range from primitive to full hook up 50amp and you will see a range of camping types from tents to class A's . The sites are well spaced out despite how the reservation map appears on the State Park website. I would however suggest staying at the campsites on the outer edges as the interior sites are a bit more cramped.

This area includes bath and shower houses that are of average cleanliness for a State park (typically worn but clean). As well as 3 playgrounds for the kids. Also on site is a Beach so bring a Towel and swimming suit.

A few things to note . If you come in the winter or spring the lake will be low and your lake side campsite will be Lake view instead. You are located about 15 minutes from a grocery store however a camp store is available also bring bug spray.

Your ideal sites are lakeside 160's I stayed at #163 and it was wonderful open with not a lot of tress for the dogs to get tangled in.

This is a true gem at the lake and even though I only live 15 miles away we visit many times throughout the year.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Pretty camping area, lake was filthy and smelly

This was a pretty campsite with lots of trees and simple deer trails throughout. Sites are well spread out. The lake itself was filthy and smelly. Lots of trash and rotting fish on the shorelines. The campground website said they had WiFi throughout the campsite, however it was only available at the front office. No cell service. We had planned to stay for a week to school and work remotely, but had to cut our time here short because of no connectivity. If we hadn’t had the need for WiFi, this would have been a fine campground to stay at, as it is centrally located to many sightseeing locations.

Sties were level, kid and pet friendly, quiet campground, 30/50 amp electricity, no water hookups, firewood avail for fire pits, also had nice picnic tables. Inexpensive.

      Roberts Bluff Access

      Great Overnight Spot

Great stop 5 minutes off of I-70! The site has three camp sites available with car pull ins and fire rings. Lots of mosquitoes due to the site being right on the water. Also two cats hang out around the site. No bathroom we could find.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Cross Creek RV Park provides access to an 8-acre stocked lake where campers can fish directly from their sites. "Our site was maybe 30 yards from the water," notes Martin J., who appreciated the proximity to fishing spots.

Off-road adventures: LOTO Off Road welcomes pets throughout its 99 campsites and trail system. "Camp anywhere on the property! Bring your side by side or ATV and explore this vast location. I love that you can creekside camp in the warm summer months," explains Ashley F.

Wildlife viewing: Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground offers multiple opportunities to spot local fauna with your leashed pets. "We saw about 20 deer each day," reports Anthony C., highlighting the abundant wildlife viewing opportunities throughout the park's extensive trail system.

Swimming access: Riverfront sites at several campgrounds allow easy water access for pets who enjoy swimming. "Really fun place to fish and swim!" says Melissa R. about Water's Edge Campground, where riverfront sites are particularly popular with pet owners during summer months.

    What campers like

Privacy between sites: Many pet owners appreciate adequate spacing between campsites for pet comfort. "Sites were spread apart, lots of shade, close to the lake," notes Elizabeth W. at Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground.

Well-maintained grounds: Majestic Oaks RV Park & Campground receives praise for its cleanliness and pet amenities. "The park is very clean, the employees are friendly and helpful," reports TJ G., who appreciated the well-kept facilities during their stay with pets.

Tent camping with pets: Primitive options exist for tent campers with animals. Barrett C. describes a unique experience at Cross Creek RV Park: "We tent camped on the island for 2 nights. It was awesome, you can fish right off the bank of your own private island within minutes of waking up. Not as secluded as the other survivor tent site but really fantastic place."

Pet-friendly activities: Campgrounds near Eldon offer various recreational options for guests with pets. "Nice campground for a state park... Great hikes, beautiful scenery," mentions Jenny H., noting the pet-accessible hiking trails available to campers.

    What you should know

Seasonal water availability: Some campgrounds restrict water access during off-season periods. "The water was off until the end of March but luckily the pump near the registration kiosk was on. It was just a bit of a drive to get it," explains David W. about early spring camping conditions.

Wildlife awareness: Keep pet food secured as local wildlife may be attracted to camping areas. "Raccoons can become a problem if food, lotions or anything with a scent if left out," warns Debbie H. at Lake of the Ozarks State Park.

Bathroom facilities: Osage Beach RV Park maintains clean facilities for pet owners. "The restrooms and showers were very clean and well kept. The staff was always very friendly and welcoming," shares David E., highlighting the park's commitment to maintaining sanitary conditions.

Noise considerations: Some campgrounds enforce strict quiet hours that include pet noise management. "Camp Bagnell is very quiet and peaceful on week days," notes Barbara S., though she cautions that weekends can be livelier with music and social activities.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Families with both children and pets benefit from campgrounds with dedicated play areas. "Kids love the mini golf, shuffleboard, and basketball. Huge private lake great for fishing and watching duck families swim by," explains Keidra P. about her experience at Cross Creek RV Park.

Swimming options: Water's Edge Campground offers water access suitable for both children and pets. "Open campground steady water flow volleyball court horse shoe pits," describes Derek C., noting the multiple recreational options available.

Winter camping: For families seeking quieter pet camping experiences, consider off-season visits. "I was just there during spring break. I was the only tent camper. Maybe 8 RVs or so out of nearly 150 campsites. It was nice and quiet," shares David W. about Lake of the Ozarks State Park.

Pet walking paths: Several campgrounds connect to longer hiking trails suitable for family outings with dogs. "Plenty of trails, fishing, and swimming," notes Elizabeth W., highlighting the multiple activity options for families with pets.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: RVers with pets should prepare for uneven terrain at some parks. "Our site was kinda tricky to get into, especially if you have a longer trailer. Seemed like quite a few were that way, so do your research," advises Jenny H. about Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground.

Full hookup options: Military Park Fort Leonard Wood Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area offers comprehensive services for eligible military RVers with pets. "Has full hookups, big rig friendly and has a large array of boats you can rent. A little difficult to get to it and fairly far from towns but it's worth it," notes Paul S.

Campsite selection for pets: RVers recommend researching specific sites for pet comfort. "Full hookup sites are on an unappealing parking lot. Sites with electric and water only are in nice oak woods overlooking Lake of the Ozarks," explains Kate B., suggesting the electric/water sites might be preferable for those with pets who need shade.

Proximity to veterinary services: Most pet friendly camping near Eldon, Missouri provides reasonable access to veterinary care. "We stayed overnight here because our dog was sick and this was close to the animal hospital we visited," shares Tom B. about Osage Beach RV Park, noting its convenient location near veterinary services.
