Hidden Valley Outfitters

Just across from Bennett Spring State Park, Hidden Valley Outfitters sits along the Niangua River with direct water access for floating and fishing. This private campground opened in 2017 and accommodates RVs up to 52 feet with full hookups, plus tent sites with electric connections.

The newer RV sites feature concrete pads and full utilities but lack shade since trees are still growing. Tent campers can choose the "danceyard" area under established trees or open sites closer to the river. Craig B. notes the river "flowing by" stays cold year-round, which some campers appreciate for cooling off after hot days. The gravel bar provides river access, though it fills up early during busy weekends.

The on-site country store stocks essentials and serves fresh pizza, with a walk-in beer cooler and fishing supplies. Staff shuttle kayaks back to campsites after float trips down the Niangua. Bathhouses stay clean according to multiple reviews, though they lack air conditioning. Golf carts are permitted throughout the campground. Quiet hours run from 10 PM to 7 AM.

Campers wanting established shade and state park amenities can explore Bennett Spring State Park Campground directly across the road.

Great family campground

We spent our first weekend at HVO. We stayed in the danceyard camp site with 30 amp electric only and plenty of trees. The newer RV sites have full hookups but no shade. Quiet hours run 10pm-7am which was nice for my young daughters. HVO does allow golf carts so you have to watch out for those zooming around. The camp store is amazing. They have a full menu including pizza for those days that you’re too tired to cook. The gravel bar was nice and close to our site. However the gravel bar isn’t huge so make sure to show up early to get a prime spot. Not a necessity for me but I did have full LTE on Verizon.

My family and I will definitely return in the future.

A great time!

My family had a blast on a short weekend trip. The staff shuttled our three kayaks back to our campsite after we floated all day, which was nice. No complaints. Would recommend staying here.

Excellent camp site!

Plenty of space at the campsites! We enjoyed 2 nites at the tent sites with electric hookups. Great spot on the niangua river with easy access to the river which was a nice place to relax after fishing over at Bennett all day (which is conveniently right across the street!)

Fun weekend spot near great outdoor activities

We live 45 minutes away from this campground but love spending time here. No shade in the campground because it's still relatively new but has many great aspects and continues to add more. So close to the park but out of the hubbub.

My Favorite

One of my top 3 campsites to visit in Missouri. Through the warm season visit at least once a month. Good clean facilities, great staff who are friendly, respectful and fun to laugh with. Always make you feel welcome. Beautiful river flowing by. There are a few choice spots that I prefer depending on time of year that can fill up quick. So book ahead. Water is chilly year around so if you like bathwater warmth, not the place for you. For us it's perfect.

Well-maintained on the river campground

Clean and well-maintained campground off the Niangua River. Showerhouse is ok- not air conditoned but relatively clean. Sites are nice with a parking pad, picnic table, campfire ring with grill, and lantern post. Great general store on property! Can’t wait to come back again. They’re supposed to be adding more soon.

A GREAT place

This is a new (‘17) campground. Trees have been planted but currently no shade. Concrete pads. Nice store with pizza ovens.

It is right on the Niangua River and they provide put in and take out along with canoe and kayak rental. Fees were very reasonable.

They are building a winery and drive in theater to be open in ‘19.

A wonderful addition to the area.

Would be a 5 with cable, WiFi and paved lane.
