Awful

We stayed at Duck Creek while visiting family in the area. It sits along a very busy road. There are a lot of sketchy, long-term residents here. We were placed on an end site crammed up next to a long-term resident. The last night of our stay there was a rainstorm and we woke up to ankle-deep water…

Pretty good place to stay!

Well, what can I say? We have been here for just about two weeks and it's not all that bad. Yeah, it needs some love and care(and they're working on it as I write) but overall is a good place to stay. Spoke with many of the travelers and most are from neighboring states and love coming here. They…

Quiet and remote

Stayed here in March 2020. My favorite part about this campground was that there were only 8 campsites so it was very quiet and remote. I arrived at 7pm on Friday and snagged the last site. The fire pit had a grate large enough to cook on and I didn’t need to use my extra grate that I keep in my…

Field of.....

It's a really great place to get away from everything, literally. It's a field with a small pond. And where is the boat ramp??

Needs a bathhouse !

Liked the state park and it’s beauty a lot. Pool was closed on Labor Day weekend???Pretty wooded campground on the side of a hill has a lot of shade but most sites are not level for larger RVs. Our reserved site #6 was so sloped for our 24’ C class that we had to give up on it and move to a vacant…

Hiker passing through

This place has been on our bucket list for a few years. We didn't get to camp there, but hiked a couple of the trails. It's definitely worth the visit!

The Garden of the Gods Observation Trail was a short, easy hike with some amazing scenic views.

The wilderness has several other hikes, but we…

Good amenities, could use better maintainence

We enjoyed the amenities that came with our stay. There was a late night check in mishap (no one answered, and we were left wandering around to look for space) they did offer us 1/2 off the first night. The lagoon was fun, and we enjoyed it, could use a lil underside cleaning and inflation…

Quiet weekend on the water

We enjoyed the view of the lake all weekend. Cell service for Verizon and AT&T were good enough to work from the camper and T-Mobile was non-existent. Campground hosts were very nice when we interacted with them. The beach area was a plus for us as our dogs love to swim and it is only open to…

Great primitive camping area

If you are looking for an out-of-the-main-drag area to go camping, try this place. We have been camping there for years. The District Scouting units use this area for camping. There is two portions to the area. The south portion has a covered pavilion.

There is no water, so bring plenty. There is…

Quiet, comfortable site

We stayed for 2 nights and had a very quiet, comfortable stay. You can see the lake through the trees, and there's a trail down to the shore off the back of the site - looked like a great spot to launch a small canoe of you don't mind hauling it back up the hill afterward. We tent camp and the site…

Cozy Hideaway

We have stayed here on 3 separate occasions and have had wonderful experiences each time. The cabins are rustic but the shower/restroom is right across the gravel road. Bring your own linens for the cabin. Enjoy their pool, playground, community campfire, and scheduled activities like outdoor…

Perfect getaway for Southern Illinois

This place is very clean and quiet! The sites are very nice with privacy. It’s close to a lot of local hiking, Bell Smith, Millstone Bluff, and several others. Also the trail around the lake is awesome! If your lucky enough to have a waterfront site you can paddle out in the lake. Only downside is…
