This place is HUGE

I don’t think I have ever been to a larger campground. Lots of bathrooms I only used 1 and it was really clean. It was too crowded for me and too shallow close to the bank for fishing. No cell service. Nice playgrounds.

Beautiful lake front spots at Hillman Ferry CG

Stayed in site 64 which had great views. Pad was level but a little difficult to back into because of one small tree. Not much shade on this site and it can get HOT! Did not use the bathrooms as they weren’t very close. So I can’t comment on that. I had a fun time paddle boarding in the little inlet right off this campsite. Lots of other campers had their boats moored along the shoreline. They were staying across the street. All in all I would say this is a nice campground and I would come back. There seem to be lots of amenities for the kiddos. Also, land between the lakes is a beautiful historic place to explore and this would be a good base camp for that.

Maybe nice at one time.

We were very disappointed to find the bicycle trail in unusable condition. It should have been repaved many years ago. The restroom in the C loop had 2 unusable showers and a 3rd with a broken screen so it was filled with bugs. In the toilet side the windows were closed so it was hot and stinky. Campsites here are not cheap so I think hand soap should be included. There are a lot of semipermanent rigs set up; it's probably packed on weekends. We had a small water view site with a cement picnic table where we could watch a family of very bold squirrels. The store had ice cream, firewood and a few essentials. There was reasonable WiFi outside but the area was dirty and never cleaned. Perhaps if we had a boat or jet ski this place would be a better fit but as it was we left early and won't return,

Very large maintained park with lots of amenities

Over 300 campsites from primitive, electric w/ water and full hook ups in each area along with campstore, modern restrooms and shower houses and so many things to do: swimming, fishing, boating, boat ramps, laundry, basketball courts, archery range, playgrounds, hiking trails plus seasonal events, amphitheater and church. We visited before the busy season so lake was low and fishing sucked however and it was peaceful/quiet. I can definitely see this campground being crazy when sites are booked solid.

Absolutely gorgeous

Great campground with beautiful nearby walking trails. A short drive to the observatory and bison prairie. We would go for a lake view site next time.

Whoooa Nelly!

This place is hopping. A veritable modern day camper city. Little too busy for what I want.

Nice amenities. Very clean. Has bball and baseball field, The Outpost for your convenience store needs. Lots of water front camping with 10x more places. Several different areas to camp in. There were a lot of people as this was spring break, kids everywhere. Lots of bike riders, walkers, joggers and golf carts.

Only gave it a 4/5 because it was too busy for my liking.

Really pretty, rather rustic, nothing is level--a really solid stay overall

This was our first camping trip with our new-to-us rig, and even though the weather was horrible for all but the last day of our trip, we still had a nice time.  We chose site 44 after looking at the site map and deciding it would be pretty simple to back into and wow were we wrong.  The pad itself was rather level...once you got into it, but to get into it, you had to angle down the side of a  hill, then cut it back the other way and straighten it out at just the right time. 😳 Once we go into the site (thanks to a Good Samaritan that stopped to help with some extra lights and a bit of coaching!), we loved it. And, after driving through the entire campground the next day, we decided it was the best site in the whole park for our size rig! 😂  Seriously though, we were across the street from the bathhouse, which is always nice with kiddos, and there was nothing behind us but a little stream and a bunch of woods leading to the lake.  There's hiking, fishing, archery, a nice playground, etc...so there's plenty to do at the campground and there were some rather epic sites on the lake...for tent campers. 🙂

Great family oriented!

It was a great place to camp with great bike trails and everything you need to clamp. It was just too INSANELY CROWDED and very noisy. Didnt help that our site was right on the main access road. Probably wont go back to to Hillman Ferry.
