Best RV Parks & Resorts near Eddyville, KY

Outback RV Resort in Eddyville provides full hookups with 50-amp service and accommodates big rigs on its gravel sites from April through November. Sites are arranged among mature trees, creating a balance of shade and sunshine for RVs. "The sites are close together and well maintained/not trashy," noted one visitor, highlighting the park's cleanliness despite the compact spacing. Indian Point RV Park offers water and electric hookups with transient RV camping primarily located in the hollow area, while Birmingham Point Campground features waterfront sites overlooking Lake Barkley with both 50-amp service and sewer connections. Venture River RV Park and Cypress Lakes RV Park round out the options with full hookup sites, with Cypress Lakes offering 105 sites open year-round.

Many RV parks in the region require navigation of narrow interior roads, with some presenting challenges for larger rigs. Seasonal availability varies significantly, with several parks closing between November and April. Dump stations are available at most locations, though placement can be problematic—one camper observed that Indian Point's "dump station could be on the wrong side of the road if you don't know which way to pull out." Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area, with Verizon users reporting three or more bars at most parks. Reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when water recreation activities at nearby Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake draw crowds to local campgrounds. Most parks accept pets but enforce leash requirements and may have designated pet areas.

    Eddy Creek Marina Resort

    A Resort RV park

Eddy creek RV park is very well kept, clean, and somewhat secluded on Lake Barkley. Only open from April through Oct, the RV camp area is behind a code locked gate, which helps to keep the park private. There is a dump station, laundry facility, bath house , propane available and Echo Charlie's restaurant that serves typical American food that includes large servings!  I didn't see any tent sites, only RV sites, most with newer looking decks, level sites, electric and water hookup to each site.  The beach is private, the pool is private, everything is within walking distance, but most people were using golf carts, as it is a good distance from the RV area to the restaurant or the pool.  Bicycling would also be ideal, most areas are paved or at least compacted gravel.

Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park

    Old and small

The sites are very small but spread out. Our 35 ft class a barely fit. They do show length limits for sites and they definitely max limit. There is electric (30 amp) and water at the site but it was 75 ft from my sites. Extensions are needed. The staff is friendly and the roads are paved but there are signs directing where to go. Great bathrooms and plentiful. Also coin operated laundry. Fairly close to the freeway.

    Hillman Ferry Campground

    Clean and Rustic

The best part of this campground is the beautiful rustic old timey feel. There are updated modern bathhouses dispersed throughout. The camp store is well stocked. There is a very nice boat ramp and several boat parking areas. “T” area is our favorite with full hookups and beautiful pine trees. A premier and amazing mountain bike trail system is accessible directly from campground!! The Canal Loop Trail and North South Trails are well known and revered by area mountain bikers and hikers. No WiFi or internet service. Cell signal in prior years have been spotty. Very family friendly and lots of kids riding bikes and playing everywhere!

    Canal Campground- Lake Barkley COE

    And then some.....

Canal Recreation Area is right by Grand Rivers, Ky and Patti's Settlement. That right there is enough said as far as outdoor activities go. Then you have Canal Rec Area that just adds too the vacation.

Book early because the best sites stay full, but really they are all pretty good sites. The different areas cover just about anything you are looking for in a site from big rig pull through sites, tiered tent sites, water and beach access sites and boat ramp sites.

There is a trail within the campground to walk, a day use area, newer showerhouse/laundry facilities and dump stations. The area is large enough to jog, bike and golf cart. If your not interested in the nearby entertainment there is enough to do right on site to keep you occupied for your entire vacation be it a day or a week+

    Indian Point RV Park

    Overnight only

The campground sits on three level overlooking Lake Barkly. There are only 5 pull-thru sites with full hookups on wide open ground, no shade. There are 16 water and electric sites. The 150+ sites are long term rental properties. There is a swimming pool, play ground, boat ramp, and game room. Dump site at entrance. More a retirement community than a RV camp.

    Eagles Nest RV Park

The nicest RV Park in Buchanan, TN

Eagle’s Nest RV Park is a hidden gem right next to Kentucky Lake and Paris Landing. It has all concrete pads with full service utility kiosks. Each campsite has plenty of room and comes with its own patio and cable TV connection. The park has a laundry room and shower / bathroom for park guests. Nearby convenience stores have firewood, propane, and anything you might need. The main attractions nearby are KY Lake, Land Between The Lakes, Paris Landing State Park and the Big Sandy National Wildlife Refuge.

    Redd Hollow

Tent and Small Camper Camping, Basic Sites

Well kept campground offering a more basic camping experience as compared to the larger campgrounds at LBL. Gravel pads with concrete picnic tables and fire rings. Be mindful when picking a site that some of the fire rings are damaged, some are the older short (12" tall tops) style and still others are brand new and have the adjustable cooking grate.

The actual gravel pads that we saw were for the most part in good shape. One or two sites suffered a bit from heavy wash running across them and rutting or washing gravel off the pads.

About half the sites are on the left hand side when you drive in and you can pick from sites tucked back in the woods a bit or sites nearer the water. Farther into the campground the road passes the vault toilet and boat ramp and goes uphill to higher up sites still. Sites in the woods with a longer walk to the lake but potentially better views and breezes.

We found that campers here did not limit themselves to staying on the defined tent pads. They would park on the pads and set up tents around the true camp site. Not a super big deal but it made getting down to the water a little awkward because you had to walk a little too close to someone else's tent for my liking.

The Forest Service could stand to go in and add some of the timber framing or bigger rip-rap bordering around the sites and maybe a splash of the smaller sized gravel to help level out the pads. You do need watch to make sure you get a level site.

If there are say 30 sites here, only about 15 were occupied over Labor Day weekend. Way less than what we expected for a holiday but it was exactly what we were hoping for, avoid the crowds at the larger, more amenity-filled campgrounds.

Last thing regarding the lake. The back end of Redd Hollow is shallow. Nice place to wade for kids. However, when they start pulling the lake down what were water access sites become gravel and mud bar access sites. In the dead middle of the summer the back end of the cove is probably full of water. Early spring and late summer early fall it is not. I suspect you can use the boat ramp year round though.

    Kenlake State Resort Park

    Waterfront

Big RVers probably should stay away when this campground is full. We watched a fifth wheel almost get stuck on their way out. Sites are shallow but wider. Some sides further from the water can house the big rigs but most of these sites are for smaller campers and tents. Contains a shower house, sewer, water, electric, and some great views.

This campground is all about location as it is right along the river and central location for hiking and adventuring. Most certainly will be back as we only stayed one night on our way back home.

Turkey Bay Vehicle Area & Campground

Nice campground for a fast stop, not really a week long area

YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE VISITOR CENTER TO PAY FOR A CAMPING PERMIT AND OHV USE!

For the Turkey Bay OHV area each site is just a picnic table and a fire pit and the sites are not numbered- it’s more a first come first serve. The sites though are close to the entrance and you park right next to the site. This site also is for RVs and tent camping but there is no water or electric access but is within walking distance of the gatehouse. The gatehouse has ice and sodas for sale to each camper.

OHVs for rent at the visitor center (just about 2 miles down the road) and trails marked specifically for them, also a couple hiking trails nearby! Bathrooms and trash onsite!

There is a dump station and potable water about a mile or so up the road near the Hunters Check Station and it’s only about 2 miles out from the Golden Pond planetarium and trails! Great area!

Guide to Eddyville

RV campgrounds near Eddyville, Kentucky sit at the heart of the Land Between the Lakes region where Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley create a paradise for water enthusiasts. The area experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F and mild winters, making seasonal availability crucial for planning. Most campgrounds close between November and March, though several properties offer year-round accommodations for winter camping.

What to do

Fishing adventures: Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley offer prime fishing spots accessible from several Eddyville camping areas. At Cypress Lakes RV Park, campers can fish right in the small lake within the property. "Has a little Lake in it to fish. Not far off the interstate makes it handy," notes Karen S.

Water recreation: Cool off during hot summer months at nearby water parks and beaches. Venture River RV park provides convenient access to water park fun. "We would stay here again and bring the cousins to play at the water park," shares Brandon T., highlighting the family-friendly appeal during summer visits.

Wildlife viewing: The shorelines and woodlands around Eddyville campgrounds host diverse wildlife. At Birmingham Point Campground, visitors can spot local fauna. "We enjoyed the lake view from our site plus we saw deer and eagles in the CG during our overnight stay," reports MickandKarla W., emphasizing the unexpected wildlife encounters.

What campers like

Spacious waterfront settings: Many campers appreciate the water views and access. "We were delighted with this site's lake view. The water pressure was good at about 50 psi and no issues with the 50 AMP service," notes a Birmingham Point Campground visitor, highlighting both the scenery and practical utilities.

Clean facilities: RV campgrounds in Eddyville typically maintain high cleanliness standards. At Outback RV Resort, guests consistently mention the well-kept amenities. "Very, very well maintained facilities. Clean bath house. Level asphalt pads with good hook-ups," reports Sara M., who stayed during a family trip.

Organized activities: Seasonal events and planned activities enhance the camping experience. "Lots of fun activities on Holiday weekends throughout the summer season," explains Cherri M. about Cypress Lakes RV Park, which provides structured recreation options during peak periods.

What you should know

Permanent residents: Many RV parks near Eddyville serve as seasonal homes rather than traditional campgrounds. At Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground, "There also seems to be a lot of long term residents," according to steven B. Similarly, at Cypress Lakes, "Most sites here are occupied by full time residents with very impressive setups."

Site leveling challenges: Several campgrounds require additional equipment for proper RV positioning. "Reason for 4 star review is the concrete pads are not level so be prepared with level blocks," warns Gigi R. about Tween the Lakes, while others mention similar issues at various properties.

Highway noise: Proximity to interstates affects the camping experience at some locations. Duck Creek RV Park sites "next to the Hwy are a little loud," according to Jen K., though she still recommends the park overall despite this drawback.

Tips for camping with families

Water park packages: Families can coordinate camping stays with water park visits for discount opportunities. Brandon T. notes that Venture River RV park's proximity to the water park makes it ideal "while visiting family" and suggests bringing "the cousins to play at the water park."

Playground access: Several campgrounds feature play areas for children. At Paducah RV Park & Campground, families appreciate the "outdoor commons area" near the lake, as mentioned by R S., providing both water views and play spaces.

Seasonal activities: Holiday weekends offer special programming for families. Cypress Lakes RV Park provides "many activities for the kids," according to Bonnie F., who adds they "will be going back, I really enjoyed it."

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: At Birmingham Point, experienced RVers recommend specific sites. "We did not have any trouble getting reservations to include getting site 25 that we'd seen recommended in reviews," shares MickandKarla W., adding "We would not recommended trying to anything longer than a 38' rig into the site due to the turn to get out."

Check-in guidance: Follow specific arrival instructions for easier navigation. When staying at Birmingham Point, MickandKarla W. advises, "When making our reservation, we were told by the owner, Angie, to follow our GPS to the end of the road where you will find the CG."

Overnight convenience: For those passing through, several parks offer efficient overnight options. Bill P. recommends Tween the Lakes for its accessibility: "There are many pull through spots all concrete. Just off the freeway so no time lost for an overnight stay."
