Best RV Parks & Resorts near Cadiz, KY

Several RV parks near Cadiz, Kentucky provide full hookup options for travelers exploring the Land Between the Lakes region. Outback RV Resort in Eddyville operates from April through November with big-rig friendly sites and offers electric, water, and sewer connections. Birmingham Point Campground, open mid-March to mid-November, features water and electric sites with lake views. Indian Point RV Park accommodates both drive-in and boat-in access with electric and water hookups at each site, though many of its 150+ sites are occupied by long-term residents. Venture River RV Park provides full hookup sites with 50-amp service and accommodates large motorhomes on level sites. "The sites are very small but spread out. Our 35 ft class a barely fit. They do show length limits for sites and they definitely max limit," one camper wrote about Kentucky Dam Village.

Most RV parks in the area require advance reservations, particularly during summer months when Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake attract boaters and fishermen. Interstate access varies by location, with some parks experiencing significant highway noise. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the region, with most reviewers reporting 3-4 bars on major carriers. Dump stations are available at several facilities, though placement can be problematic at certain parks. A review mentioned that at Indian Point RV Park, the dump station "could be on the wrong side of the road if you don't know which way to pull out for it to be on the correct side for your RV - and located in an area that could present a steep hill and curve to navigate to it." Propane fills are available at RJourney Clarksville RV Resort, and most parks in the area welcome pets with designated dog areas.

    Eddy Creek Marina Resort

    A Resort RV park

Eddy creek RV park is very well kept, clean, and somewhat secluded on Lake Barkley. Only open from April through Oct, the RV camp area is behind a code locked gate, which helps to keep the park private. There is a dump station, laundry facility, bath house , propane available and Echo Charlie's restaurant that serves typical American food that includes large servings!  I didn't see any tent sites, only RV sites, most with newer looking decks, level sites, electric and water hookup to each site.  The beach is private, the pool is private, everything is within walking distance, but most people were using golf carts, as it is a good distance from the RV area to the restaurant or the pool.  Bicycling would also be ideal, most areas are paved or at least compacted gravel.

    Hillman Ferry Campground

    Clean and Rustic

The best part of this campground is the beautiful rustic old timey feel. There are updated modern bathhouses dispersed throughout. The camp store is well stocked. There is a very nice boat ramp and several boat parking areas. “T” area is our favorite with full hookups and beautiful pine trees. A premier and amazing mountain bike trail system is accessible directly from campground!! The Canal Loop Trail and North South Trails are well known and revered by area mountain bikers and hikers. No WiFi or internet service. Cell signal in prior years have been spotty. Very family friendly and lots of kids riding bikes and playing everywhere!

Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park

    Old and small

The sites are very small but spread out. Our 35 ft class a barely fit. They do show length limits for sites and they definitely max limit. There is electric (30 amp) and water at the site but it was 75 ft from my sites. Extensions are needed. The staff is friendly and the roads are paved but there are signs directing where to go. Great bathrooms and plentiful. Also coin operated laundry. Fairly close to the freeway.

    Canal Campground- Lake Barkley COE

    And then some.....

Canal Recreation Area is right by Grand Rivers, Ky and Patti's Settlement. That right there is enough said as far as outdoor activities go. Then you have Canal Rec Area that just adds too the vacation.

Book early because the best sites stay full, but really they are all pretty good sites. The different areas cover just about anything you are looking for in a site from big rig pull through sites, tiered tent sites, water and beach access sites and boat ramp sites.

There is a trail within the campground to walk, a day use area, newer showerhouse/laundry facilities and dump stations. The area is large enough to jog, bike and golf cart. If your not interested in the nearby entertainment there is enough to do right on site to keep you occupied for your entire vacation be it a day or a week+

    Indian Point RV Park

    Overnight only

The campground sits on three level overlooking Lake Barkly. There are only 5 pull-thru sites with full hookups on wide open ground, no shade. There are 16 water and electric sites. The 150+ sites are long term rental properties. There is a swimming pool, play ground, boat ramp, and game room. Dump site at entrance. More a retirement community than a RV camp.

    Eagles Nest RV Park

The nicest RV Park in Buchanan, TN

Eagle’s Nest RV Park is a hidden gem right next to Kentucky Lake and Paris Landing. It has all concrete pads with full service utility kiosks. Each campsite has plenty of room and comes with its own patio and cable TV connection. The park has a laundry room and shower / bathroom for park guests. Nearby convenience stores have firewood, propane, and anything you might need. The main attractions nearby are KY Lake, Land Between The Lakes, Paris Landing State Park and the Big Sandy National Wildlife Refuge.

    Redd Hollow

Tent and Small Camper Camping, Basic Sites

Well kept campground offering a more basic camping experience as compared to the larger campgrounds at LBL. Gravel pads with concrete picnic tables and fire rings. Be mindful when picking a site that some of the fire rings are damaged, some are the older short (12" tall tops) style and still others are brand new and have the adjustable cooking grate.

The actual gravel pads that we saw were for the most part in good shape. One or two sites suffered a bit from heavy wash running across them and rutting or washing gravel off the pads.

About half the sites are on the left hand side when you drive in and you can pick from sites tucked back in the woods a bit or sites nearer the water. Farther into the campground the road passes the vault toilet and boat ramp and goes uphill to higher up sites still. Sites in the woods with a longer walk to the lake but potentially better views and breezes.

We found that campers here did not limit themselves to staying on the defined tent pads. They would park on the pads and set up tents around the true camp site. Not a super big deal but it made getting down to the water a little awkward because you had to walk a little too close to someone else's tent for my liking.

The Forest Service could stand to go in and add some of the timber framing or bigger rip-rap bordering around the sites and maybe a splash of the smaller sized gravel to help level out the pads. You do need watch to make sure you get a level site.

If there are say 30 sites here, only about 15 were occupied over Labor Day weekend. Way less than what we expected for a holiday but it was exactly what we were hoping for, avoid the crowds at the larger, more amenity-filled campgrounds.

Last thing regarding the lake. The back end of Redd Hollow is shallow. Nice place to wade for kids. However, when they start pulling the lake down what were water access sites become gravel and mud bar access sites. In the dead middle of the summer the back end of the cove is probably full of water. Early spring and late summer early fall it is not. I suspect you can use the boat ramp year round though.

    Kenlake State Resort Park

    Waterfront

Big RVers probably should stay away when this campground is full. We watched a fifth wheel almost get stuck on their way out. Sites are shallow but wider. Some sides further from the water can house the big rigs but most of these sites are for smaller campers and tents. Contains a shower house, sewer, water, electric, and some great views.

This campground is all about location as it is right along the river and central location for hiking and adventuring. Most certainly will be back as we only stayed one night on our way back home.

Turkey Bay Vehicle Area & Campground

Nice campground for a fast stop, not really a week long area

YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE VISITOR CENTER TO PAY FOR A CAMPING PERMIT AND OHV USE!

For the Turkey Bay OHV area each site is just a picnic table and a fire pit and the sites are not numbered- it’s more a first come first serve. The sites though are close to the entrance and you park right next to the site. This site also is for RVs and tent camping but there is no water or electric access but is within walking distance of the gatehouse. The gatehouse has ice and sodas for sale to each camper.

OHVs for rent at the visitor center (just about 2 miles down the road) and trails marked specifically for them, also a couple hiking trails nearby! Bathrooms and trash onsite!

There is a dump station and potable water about a mile or so up the road near the Hunters Check Station and it’s only about 2 miles out from the Golden Pond planetarium and trails! Great area!

Guide to Cadiz

The Cadiz, Kentucky area sits at approximately 430 feet above sea level near the northern border of Tennessee, centrally located between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. The region experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures often exceeding 90°F from June through August, while winters are relatively mild with occasional freezing temperatures. RV parks near Cadiz typically operate at full capacity during summer fishing tournaments and holiday weekends.

What to do

Fishing access points: Most campgrounds provide lake access for anglers seeking bass, crappie, and catfish. Eagles Nest RV Park offers free boat parking and sits "just 1500 feet from Kentucky Lake and 10 minutes from Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area," according to reviewer Andy S.

Water recreation: Several parks feature swimming areas for cooling off during hot Kentucky summers. At Birmingham Point Campground, campers enjoy "a nice swimming beach and beautiful views," as noted by Erin P., making it ideal for families seeking water activities.

Local dining: The region offers several noteworthy restaurants within short driving distance of most campgrounds. One reviewer at Outback RV Resort mentioned, "Nearby food: The Daily Bread is exceptional for breakfasts, desserts, pizza and sandwiches," providing a convenient option for campers who don't want to cook.

What campers like

Helpful staff: Many reviewers highlight exceptional service at RV parks throughout the region. At Outback RV Resort, one camper noted, "We were escorted to our site and he assisted us with hook-ups," demonstrating the hands-on approach many parks take with new arrivals.

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness receives frequent praise in reviews. One visitor to Outback RV Resort stated, "Very, very well maintained facilities. Clean bath house. Level asphalt pads with good hook-ups," reflecting the priority many Cadiz area campgrounds place on maintenance.

Wildlife viewing: The natural setting provides opportunities to spot local fauna. A reviewer at Birmingham Point Campground mentioned, "We saw deer and eagles in the CG during our overnight stay," highlighting the natural encounters possible even during brief stays.

What you should know

Seasonal limitations: Many campgrounds in the region operate seasonally. Birmingham Point Campground operates from "Mar 15 - Nov 15," while others like Outback RV Resort run from "April 1 to November 1," requiring winter travelers to find alternative accommodations.

Permanent residents: Several parks primarily serve long-term campers. At Indian Point RV Park, a reviewer observed, "The 150+ sites are long term rental properties... More a retirement community than a RV camp," indicating the social dynamic newcomers might experience.

Site limitations: Some campgrounds have specific restrictions worth noting before arrival. One camper at Birmingham Point noted about their pull-through site: "We wouldn't go in there with anything over 38'. The sites here vary a lot on how close they are to each other."

Tips for camping with families

Water park access: For families seeking additional recreation, consider parks near water attractions. A visitor to Venture River RV Park shared, "We would stay here again and bring the cousins to play at the water park," noting its convenient location adjacent to water activities.

Playground options: Several campgrounds offer play areas for children. At Cypress Lakes RV Park, a reviewer mentioned, "Nice play ground for the kids. Also has many activities for the kids," making it suitable for families seeking structured recreation.

Organized activities: Seasonal events provide entertainment for younger campers. One visitor to Cypress Lakes RV Park noted, "Lots of fun activities on Holiday weekends throughout the summer season," which can help keep children engaged during longer stays.

Tips from RVers

Dump station placement: Check dump station location before arrival to avoid difficult maneuvering. As noted in one review, some stations may be "on the wrong side of the road if you don't know which way to pull out for it to be on the correct side for your RV."

Highway noise considerations: Several parks are situated near interstates, creating potential noise issues. At Clarksville RV Resort by Rjourney, a reviewer noted it "has the most interstate noise of any we've stayed," suggesting noise-sensitive campers should request sites farther from highways.

Site leveling requirements: Many campgrounds require leveling equipment. One camper at Birmingham Point Campground stated, "We needed levelers on the door side," indicating that even at parks with designated pads, additional adjustment may be necessary.
