Full hook ups-self pay

Payne Rv park has 18 full hook up sites and is located outside of Newton. It is perfect for a night but not a lot to see otherwise. The fee is $20 per night and you pay across the road. The sites are gravel, pull they, and have 50/30/20 amp. Pets are allowed and our cell service was full bars.

Ok but noisy at night

We must have camped at part central. Mud lake. Noisy.. crowded. Showers were closed and turned off and the bathrooms were dirty. No longer a favorite place to stay because of the partying. May need to relocate to the other side of the lake.

Nice shaded campground

Hillsboro Cove is a nice shaded campground located at Marion Reservoir. This campground has electric and water hookups. There is a covered picnic area at each site with a grill and fish cleaning area. There are also fire rings at each site. There is firewood for sale at the entrance and a guard shack with a camp host across the way. There is also a dump, wash house, bathrooms, and a group area with very large covered picnic shelter and 9 electric hook ups if needed.

A quaint, quite lake

This lake has a couple cute campgrounds nestled along side the lake, some with electric and some without. When you first come in there are tent sites right at the water that are secluded. There is also a lake front community at this lake with many houses. There are day use areas right next to the lake with fireplace/grills. There is a swimming area, a basketball court, boat slips and bathrooms.

Primitive campground

Marion Cove is a primitive campground at Marion Reservoir. The sites are spacious with fire rings and you are able to self register. There is a shop with bait and firewood near but not in the campground itself.

Shady,Spacious,and quiet

Cottonwood point is one of the Rv campgrounds at Marion reservoir near Marion Kansas. There is a guard shack at the entrance along with a camp host. The sites are shady, spacious, and quiet. The outer sides are overlooking the water. Each site is electric 30/20, and has a covered picnic table, a grill,a cleaning station, and fire ring. There are water spigots scattered around. We were at site 76 and there was one next to us. There are huge group areas with large covered picnic shelter and 9 electric hookups if needed. There is a nice swimming area that has life jackets hanging in case you forgot yours, showers,a playground, boat docks, day use areas, and basketball courts. Also great fishing, kayaking, and hiking. There is a store with bait, wood, and things that you may need.

Don't bother trying to picnic there...

I and my family drove quite a ways to enjoy this lake. My wife and I had come the week before to see if it would be a nice place to come and picnic for the day. We were impressed!!     BUT…  Today, unfortunately We found out this lake really caters to RVers and boaters. At least a third of the cottonwood cove area is closed (due to construction; no equipment, workers or evidence of construction on the roads or sites). We found a spot just off the boat launch that had a picnic table available. The rest of the park was full with campers.  We were trying to have a relaxing "SOCIALLY DISTANCED" evening. After an hour a golf cart pulls up and tells us we couldn't picnic there we were told "The rangers are coming" and if we try to go to the other side we would meet up with the sheriff🥴. I just wanted to enjoy what my tax dollars were paying for! I asked the law lady where we could picnic.  She had no idea. She finally came up with a site the campers didn't want and no where near where the kids could enjoy the water.  So much for a nice quiet evening. Very disappointed with a day the family was anticipating.  Note: the elderly golf cart lady was very nice.

Memories

I grew up camping at this site and going to festivals down here. It is always maintained and always welcoming

Lame
